Cooperative missions could start off similar to the arena. You'd need to hop into your single player game after nabbing the download and fast travel to a marked off area on your map. Heading into the door brings you to a server screen, where you'll see a list of players waiting for a partner to head in. As with the arena, you could set up your own server if you wished. While browsing servers, you'd be able to see the class and skill setup of each waiting player in order to judge which would be best for you to join. For example, if you're a character largely focused on melee damage, you'll likely want to look for a more magicka-centric character to provide healing support and ranged spell damage. Once paired up, voice communication would again be active, and you could both head into the dungeon.
Inside the cooperative dungeon, which has no connection with either players' offline worlds, you could find some NPCs to give you quests and then embark on a tandem dungeon crawl. Since there are two players involved, this would legitimize battles with larger numbers of foes, and stronger, physically larger enemies than those found in the single player content. Items looted from new enemy types and awarded for successful quest completion would only be available across other online modes. So, were you to win special gear or weaponry in the cooperative dungeon, you could use it in the other online multiplayer dungeons that were released, or bring it into the online arena.
