Beorunna's Well
1 - AARIN'S LODGE

Aarin's Lodge is the staring location for Chapter 3. After the reveal of Maugrim's Cult and the betrayal of Lady Aribeth, you must now search for the Words of Power in order to prevent the Luskan Forces, which now march with Lady Aribeth at their head, from destroying Neverwinter and the North. When you arrive Aarin will address you and let you know about the status of the mission so far. Aarin has a few pointers to give you as of where to start your search but he will tell you that you must first go and speak with Lillian Cambridge located at the Drinking House here at Beorunna's Well. Lillian apparently knows more about the Words of Power and she might even know the location of one of the Words.

All of your henchmen are also located here so do not forget to greet them again and chose the one that will accompany you.

After finding any of the Words of Power you will have to get back to Aarin and report it as well as collect your reward. Here are the locations of the three remaining Words of Power:
  • 1st Word of Power: Located inside the Snow Globe. For bringing the first word back you will be rewarded with 3000 gold pieces and 1500 experience points.
  • 2nd Word of Power: Located at the Creator Race Ruins. For bringing the second word back you will be rewarded with 3500 gold pieces and 1500 experience points.
  • 3rd Word of Power: Located at Klauth's Lair. For bringing the third word back you will be rewarded with 5000 gold pieces and 1500 experience points. You can also persuade Aarin to give 3 potions of Heal.
This is the recommended order for finding the Words of Power, you may choose to find them in a different order but keep in mind that you will need all the levels you can get before you confront Klauth, the Ancient Red Dragon, if you choose to do so. Also, bringing the third Word back to Aarin completes Chapter 3.


2 - TEMPLE OF TYR

This is the entrance to the Temple of Tyr here at Beorunna's Well. (See also Temple of Tyr area Walkthrough).


3 - MERCENARY ENCLAVE

Inside the Enclave you will find Rolkid. Rolkid has a nice selection of equipment for you to buy. You can also talk to him and you will find out that the supply lines for the Lords' Alliance Forces to Beorunna's Well have been cut off by some Orc Bands. You can offer to help with the Supply lines problem. Rolkid will then give you a Bounty Hunt Writ which gives you authorization to capture if possible two of the leaders of these Orc bands, the infamous Orcs Vaath and Guzud.

For bringing back Vaath's Head from the small camp of Orcs at Coldwood, Rolkid will reward you with 500 gold pieces and 312 experience points (You can persuade for another 100 gold pieces).

For bringing back Guzud's Head from the Orc Lair at Fort Ilkard you will be rewarded with another 500 gold pieces and 312 experience points.

When both heads are brought back to Rolkid he will then ask you to hunt down King Obould himself, the leader of the Orcs at these areas, before he will be able to form an alliance with the Luskan Forces. King Obould Many Arrows is located inside the Orc Lair at Moonwood.

For Bringing Obould's head back, Rolkid will reward you will 1000 gold pieces and 625 experience points. You can also get a magic Kama with a successful persuasion skill check.

Also Jevon and Zeb are located inside the enclave too. Both will talk with you about Rolgan's trial if you accept to help Neurik at the Temple of Tyr. Jevon is a juror and Zed a witness so you will want to know their opinion before the trial.

You can also heal the Zeb's leg and he will then tell you pretty much the same stuff Lodar tells if you buy him some drinks, about Griff's spiked drinks and that Griff hated the Uthgardt.

Jevon can be bribed if you seek an easy way to win the trial, but you will need to make a successful persuade skill check before Jevon accepts the bribe. This action though triggers an alignment shift of 3 points towards evil.

4 - DRINKING HOUSE

This is the Entrance to the Drinking House (See also Drinking House area walkthrough).


5 - MANY-STARRED CLOAK ENCLAVE

Eltoora Sarptyl made her way up here at Beorunna's Well as you will find out and he is located inside the Many-Starred Cloak Enclave here. As always she has a nice selection of items for the magic users. Also if you are an arcane caster Eltoora will give you access to her lad but you will first have to pay a sum of 2000 gold pieces. You can use the lab to create several magic items so keep your eyes open for some magic Tomes created from Hasuraman the Muddled that contain instructions for creating certain magic items.

Here is a list of all the magic items you can create in Chapter 3 and the locations of the Tomes that give the instructions:
  • Tome of Power: Located at Layenne's Tomb over at Coldwood, Ingredients (placed in the wizards chest) 2 Bodak's Teeth, Cast: Feeblemind, Creates: Staff of Power
  • Tome of Boots: Located in a crate behind Aarin's Lodge here at Beorunna's Well, Ingredients: Gargoyle Skull and a Bodak's Tooth, Cast: Stoneskin, Creates: Gargoyle Boots
  • Tome of the Amulet: Located inside the Creator Race Ruins beyond Fort Ilkard, Ingredients: Fen Berry and a Slaad's Tongue, Cast: Mage Armor, Creates: Amulet of Nature Armor +5
  • Tome of the Ring: Located inside the Brass Dragon Cave at the forest of Moonwood, Ingredients: Fen berry and a Rakshasa's Eye, Cast: Melf's Acid Arrow, Creates: Ring of Regeneration
  • Tome of the Robe: Located inside the Destroyed Homestead at the Fort Ilkard: Homesteads area, Ingredients: Fire Beetle Belly and a Quartz Crystal, Cast: Enervation, Creates: Crystal Robes
6 - TRADING POST

Husher Clay is the merchant here at the Trading Post. He has some general equipment and several magic weapons and armor. He also has a job for you is you are willing. He needs you to retrieve a gem for him. The gem is called the Star Sapphire and it is believed that the gem was buried with Layenne Cheroux at her tomb. Layenne's Tomb however is somewhere hidden in the Coldwood forest.

When you bring back the Star Sapphire from Layenne's Tomb, Husher will reward you with an impressive sum of gold, a whole of 3000 gold pieces and 400 experience points. You can also persuade him for another 200 gold pieces or threaten him which also gives you another 200 gold pieces but triggers an alignment shift of up to seven points towards evil.

Barun Silverblade is also located inside the Trading Post. Once again he can forge you some very nice and powerful weapons and armors, if you have the right components, like he did in Chapter 1. He will also give you a book that contains all the appropriate components for each item he can create. However finding such components in chapter 3 is not likely (e.g. Ironwood or Adamantine) and to forge some of the items you must have brought the components from Chapter 1 (something I did not do).


7 - DRUID GROVE

Yusan is the druid for the grove at Beorunna's Well. If you talk with him he will ask for your help on a matter. Since he cannot leave the grove he needs someone to go and investigate the Uthgardt Elk Tribe and why they have chosen to ally with the Luskan Forces.

When you help the people of the Elk tribe, at Fort Ilkard, with the plague, Zoran, their leader, will give you a token to bring back to Yusan. The token called Dreamcaster will convince Yusan that the Elk Tribe is no longer in league with the Luskan Forces. It is also a gesture to show that the Elk people are sorry for what they have done.


8 - UTHGARDT SETTLEMENT

As you may have already noticed, there is some serious tension between the soldiers of the Lords' Alliance and the Uthgardt people of the Black Lion Tribe, and Rolgan's crime has added to this tension greatly. Vanda the wife of Rolgan is located here at the Settlement. She will be at the trial too and you can use her opinion though it might be a little biased. You can also call her to justify at the trial if you think that this will help save Rolgan. Palla on the other hands, which is also located here, is one of the jurors and since she is old and wise her opinion counts.

Rolgan will be here too later on if you manage to find him not guilty for the murder of Griff.


9 - DALCIA

Another juror for Rolgan's Trial can be found here. You will need to ask Dalcia for her opinion as well before the trial. Dalcia seems to favors the Uthgardt people though she is not a member of them but she is willing to vote for Rolgan's innocence if you bring up some valid arguments at the trial.


10 - EXIT TO COLDWOOD

The northern path from here will take you the Coldwood forest. Coldwood holds the locations for both Layenne's Tomb and Wizard's Dungeon.


11 - EXIT TO FORD ILKARD

The southern path from here will take you to the Fort Ilkard areas. The Creator Race Ruins and the settlement of the Elk Tribe are some of the areas beyond this exit.


12 - EXIT TO MOONWOOD

The western path from here will take you to the Moonwood areas. This is also the path to choose if you want to reach the Dragon Lairs and the Spine of World area.
