Quest: A Game of Dice
Did we miss anything in this section? Is there something we didn't discover? Let us know!

Organizational Note

This page includes information for all of the dice poker quests.

Background

You’ll receive this quest the first time you pick up a Dice Box. You’ll find Dice Boxes in a pair of places in Chapter I: on the corpses of the travelers who attack Zoltan Chivay, and also on a corpse in the crypt.

Walkthrough

This quest will last for almost the entirety of the campaign, and it will involve you playing dice poker against an assortment of opponents. To start it off, you’ll have to learn the rules to the game. Zoltan Chivay will teach them to you in Chapter I, and he’ll even play a sample game against you. After playing Zoltan once, talk to him again to trigger the quest “Dice Poker: The Novice.”

Listed below are all of the people who you can play in the quests.

Novices (Need 3)
Professionals (Need 4)
Sharpers (Need 3)
  • Koster: In the gambling den in the Trade Quarter (Chapter III).
  • Chireadan: At the elven camp in Lakeside (Chapter IV).
  • Dandelion: In the country inn south of Murky Waters (Chapter IV).
  • The Gambling Ghost: In the ruins south of Murky Waters (Chapter IV)
Legend (Need 1)
  • King Foltest: In his chamber in the Castle (Chapter V)
You’ll earn experience points each time you defeat an opponent and each time you move up a level. You won’t get any sort of special reward for defeating the king.
