Torn will use a version of the excellent Fallout RPG rules but implement them in real-time, although players will have the option to pause in-game to make tactical moves and decisions. There are already an absolute ton of impressive 3D character models available including Humans, Elves, Dwarves and Ogres and in the final game each race will have their own characteristics and racial traits which will have a direct affect on gameplay. The weakest Ogre, for example, will always have a strength greater than an equivalent human and Dwarven players currently enjoy racial modifiers like grim determination (the ability to get up off the canvas after being smote for one last hack) as well as virtual immunity to the effects of strong ale.
