Q: What sort of role do you see the interface playing in future MMOs?
A: A very important one. I'll explain. I've developed a philosophy over the years, working with interfaces as both a programmer and an artist, which I finally had a chance to partially realize, when Everquest made their interface fully customizable. My philosophy is that the user-interface is an incredibly important layer within any game. It serves as a conduit of information and matrix of interactivity. It can and should be designed with both functionality and aesthetics in mind.
