One thing I noted while playing is that gradually more and more details are creeping into the game. There are more pieces of armor and clothing to wear, more hairstyles, and more ways to customize your character. For instance, there are now great-looking capes that blow and flutter in the wind. Snazzy. Characters can now also gain fame through their player-vs-player exploits, so super-powerful characters will now be easily recognized as they strut into town.
Missions now have introductory cinematics which show off the beautiful level design, but more importantly instruct you on how to play the map. The objectives can be pretty involved: the game I played was similar to a king-of-the-hill scenario, where the team who occupied the center altar at the end of the time limit would win. Team flags could also be carried to capture smaller altars around the map for team bonuses, so there was a great deal of tactics to consider -- especially given that there were three full teams fighting for the turf.
