I played the demo and it was amazing. It truly is a hybrid between an RTS and an RPG.

I already went and pre-ordered it and hopefully will be picking it up tomorrow.

I'm baffeled at the lack of hype over this game.

You would probably have to be at least 25+ to "get it". Its a reference to some popular icons in the 1980's. If you don't live in either the US or Canada though you've probably never heard of them. Hence why they say to you in game something like "I told you they were of the wrong generation".

I've been toying with the idea of playing through the complete BG saga with the same char. I have played and finished the original BG way back when it originally came out. I've long since traded in my original disks to EB and I'm sorta regretting that now. I've also played though BG II to the end ...

I would try backing up your saved game then reinstall icewind dale. Copy your saved game back into the proper directory.

Are you perhaps using an illegal copy of the game? (I only ask because an illegal copy would be cut for space and that would probably mean the cutscene files were not included ...
