I would drop Minsc for Valygar. He has higher dex, better weapons (katanas of course) and backstabs quite well.

Anomen, Aerie and Jaheria are too many healers for one party. Mazzy is the NPC who fits this group instead of Jaheira. Her weapons are short bows and halberds (this may look a bit stupid ...

Monk PC
Valygar
Anomen
Mazzy
Nalia/Imoen
Aerie

I have this party with an Undead Hunter PC and it works exceedingly. Keldorn instead of Valygar would be an other choice but I don't like using him with Anomen because both of them have horrible dex and need Bracers of Dexterity.

Although my people were only level 3-4 I managed to kill him on insane with using a Wand of Monster Summoning. This can be found in a ghast cave northeast from Nashkel Mines.

The tactic is clear, one character is used to lure Drizzt while the others are standing far away and summoning as many ...

I made three parties for the three romances with every possible NPC's. I think they all are balanced in point of fighting/spellcasting skills and weapon selection.

Good alignment party: Human Undead Hunter PC, Valygar, Anomen, Mazzy, Imoen (Yoshimo)and Aerie.

Neutral one : Elf Fighter/Mage/Thief ...

Thanks for the advice, that's what I wanted to do. But I became very angry after I realized that my last saved game was before entering the keep. I'd like to have one with only TorGal's battle missing. I think there should be an option to refuse her offer after clearing the keep.

Fighter stronghold

My PC is a fighter/thief/mage and I've completed Nalia's keep quest. She's offered me to lead her castle but I prefer the mage stronghold. The problem is if I rejected her offer she would leave the party. Is it possible to keep Nalia AND have an other stronghold ?

Questions

1. I can't hit the Ice Golem and Wraiths in Watcher's Keep 2. How did you kill them ?

2. What do you think about the romance of Viconia and a Half-Orc PC ? I've read on Baldurdash page that Half-Orcs were supposed to be able to romance her.

3. Before installing ToB I could wear Red Dragon Scale ...

I haven't played ToB yet, but I liked multi fighter/thieves in BGI (Coran) and in BGII. I think they're the best backstabbers. If you'd like to play a melee fighter choose a half-orc because of str and con bonuses. An elf fighter/thief can be a very good bowman, they get a THAC0 bonus when using bows.

Coran, the best NPC of BGI. And no fighter/thief in BGII.

This (not special) party was used in BGI:

1. Human Invoker PC
2. Human Paladin
3. Human Ranger
4. Dwarf Fighter/Thief
5. Human Cleric
6. Human Thief

After dual-classing them in BGII it's become to a really powerful group:

1. Invoker (Level 9) /Fighter : Long Bow, Staff of Mage
2. Undead Hunter ...

How about a gnome Cleric/Illusionist instead of the half-elf one ? One more spells per level. The second character should be the half-orc fighter-thief with a katana.

This means that a single class fighter and a multi class fighter/something have the same THAC0 after they both have got to level 21 (around 6MXP). Am I right ?

Thac0

Can somebody explain me how the Thac0 of the different classes improves in ToB ? I know this in SoA and I'm interested if it is the same. Thanx.

Ideal party for BG series

After completing the different parts in their own I'm thinking on a custom party which can complete the whole story at the highest difficulty level. I'm trying to form a group with all types of fighting strategies.

I've already realized that dual- and multiclasses are the most effective. Ranger ...

I think the best characters are dual-classed ones, my favourites are Kensai/Mage, Ranger/Cleric and Swashbuckler/Mage.

Among the single-class kits I prefer the Undead Hunter because of his immunity to level drain and ability to use Carsomyr.

The best multi combo is a gnome Illusionist/Cleric ...

The Swashbuckler is the best thief kit for dualling to mage. A level 10 Swashbuckler does all thief works except scouting, the Staff of Magi qualifies him for that, too. And of course, the +3 AC bonus and the other fighting bonuses can be very useful for the Thief/Mage.
