You can become head of both Guilds, and work around all the conflicts, mainly by double-checking all of Eydis Fireeyes's Quests with some high-ranking Fighter's Guild dude in the Ald'Ruhn (I think) - Perseus (maybe? w/e --- forgotten his name & location) - but he's another major Fighters Guild ...

I get mine from the Quest-givers (or nearby folk) in either Thieves Guild or Morag-Tong, and possibly Hlaalu House - think you have to be a Guild member (and/or high-ranking one maybe) before some of them will Barter with you.
But I am close to max on Security skill anyway.... so I find I can ...

There are a number of methods you can use to get rid of the Blinding effect.....do a search here and you will find them, but most rely on "Resist Magicka", or alternatively Light/Night-Eye -- not 'Dispel'.
What worked for me, and I found cheapest and easiest was:
1. buy a 'Resist Magicka' spell ...

As others have said Echoes - it shouldn't matter in getting through the game. Its just itime-consuming to level up skills in something that you didn't start out high in.
I preferred Mercantile to Speechcraft for Personality, and more rewarding! Also easier to build up, though it can be slow and ...

I arrived here, to search for this very question - I was quite puzzled by the "dumpling" etc - and checking my journal for what this "little favour" was he wanted....
At first I thought the game developers had put this in, just for us girl characters (particularly when our Personalities are so much ...
