If you want to play around with character creation, you can check out the Character Builder at the NeverWinter Nights 2 Vault:
CharacterBuildCalculator for NWN2 (CBC2) -- Neverwinter Nights 2 Vault

As for your stats distribution, your low INT will restrict the number of skills you can have, so I ...

The rules.
No permanent death? NPCs coming right back from the dead (no, wait, they were just "knocked down"... jeez) when the battle is over? Resting in six seconds ? No fatigue? Free heal every time you enter or exit an area? What the fish?!

That was my biggest beef with NWN1, and the reason I ...

LOL @ OP. Nicely said Limey.

I had your problem when I played Guildwars, and it really wore out the game for me. I think I had about 40 hours logged before I got out of the newbie area.

I think you can expect the story to "get going" once you get into NeverWinter. Your one complaint can be ...

Where to store stuff?

I heard that if you put inventory in public places (or in the inn - for example) and you change from one act to another, the stuff you stored will disappear. Because of that I've been carrying everything with me all the time, which is getting troublesome...

Can anyone tell me:
1) Where is a good ...

As long as you have the box (not the individuals) you should be good. In my game, I didn't have to do anything. It went to a cut-scene as soon as I was close enough to the rock-slide.

I'd guess that this may not be a problem with the game but with your PC... it sounds like something that might happen from over-heating, perhaps lack of power to your video card, or bad RAM. I know for sure that in an older PC of mine with bad no-name memory my PC used to power off and reboot for no ...

I'm pretty sure I saw one for sale by one of the merchants in Act 1, but I think that was Sand. If he's in your party (and no longer a merchant) then I guess you can't get it. Maybe the gnome in the merchant's district has one.

Well here's the answer to this:

System in both cases was an AMD 3.2+Duron, 1 GB DDR LL ram

With a GeForce FX5900 128 MB card NWN2 ran well with these settings:
800X600, low shadows, medium detail, 0 AA, no reflections, 2 light sources per character. It would run at 1024X768, but it was so slow ...

Or, for an even more simple explanation:

Equip the weapon, and look at your Character sheet. Under the stats you will see the To Hit bonus which is the total bonus including all enhancements and enchantments. You will also see the net damage bonus including all weapon bonuses.

To compare weapons ...

Spending hours pondering over what items I should create just doesn't seem like fun to me.

I think that's what it boils down to. For some (like Galorian who made a number of weapons and armor that could be better than what they found in the game) the aspect of item creation is fun. But if you don ...

There is a hardware performance guide for Neverwinter Nights 2 on Gamespot but when I looked at the results, I can tell you that it isn't pretty (link).

"Isn't Pretty" sure is right! On the bright side, the ...

Too bad they don't have NWN2 as a choice, though I am guessing it's due to poorly omptimised game and engine giving so many people trouble running it.

That's exactly why I posted here. I read a good review ( The best gaming cards for the money ) that listed the 7600 GS as a great mid-level card ...

Fable, I could be wrong but I think the performance increase Mordraken implies to refers to NWN2.

Yup, you're right. This was a question specific to getting NWN2 to run better (since it would run every other game without problem).

I don't mind it being in the tech support forum as long as any ...

Video Card Question

I currently have a GeForce 5900FX (128 MB) video card, and am considering upgrading to a GeForce 7600 GS OC (512 MB) card. I know the recommended is a 7800, but I don't want to drop the $350+ that card will cost into a 3 year old rig (3.2 GHz, 1 GB RAM) when I can get the 7600 GS for $130.

Does ...

However, it would also make sense for them to replenish their supplies after a certain amount of time, which does not happen.

Correct, but I think that's a function of the program (no "unlimited items"). One solution would be to allow the Heal skill to be used without healing kits, but to have ...

If you want a character that can heal regularly, you WILL want a cleric with the healing domain. Otherwise, well...why did you pick a different character??

I understand what you're saying, but I'm playing the character that I wanted to play (a Paladin). It shouldn't be necessary to ONLY play a ...

Healing on "Hardcore"

Am I making this game too hard for myself?

I am playing the game on Hardcore difficulty, and am only at act 1 (the bandit camp) and I won't rest in the middle of an "adventure". I am finding to keep everyone from dieing regularly, I have to feed them healing potions and use healing kits (I'm a ...

Speaking from a movie-perspective only (not from the expanded universe of books & comics):

I always thought that Boba Fett was Jango's son (and not a clone, despite his residence on Genosis). Also, I beleive Jango Fett was a Mandalorian (descended from that "race" and he was the basis of the clone ...

I played it twice - first as a good-guy and a second time as a bad guy. With the two times, I used different sexed characters, different companions, and played the game with the different story lines (it's much harder to fight the Jedi each planet than to make friends with them).

IMO the end-game ...
