The high level abilities for mages don't show up in the special abilities button. They show up as level 9 mage spells that you have to memorize and level 7 cleric spells for clerics.

Focus your attacks on them one at a time or the will just keep regenerating. Try to get a lot of damage in a smaller amount of time.

At the very last room of the level, Aesgaroth has you play a game with him for the final scepter gem.

You need to follow the directions in the mad elf's journal to get to every room. You start in the room with the compass and follow the directions from there.

Irenicus regenerates very fast in his slayer form. Try one all out damage dealing big hitter to take him out. I didn't have much trouble with Irenicus. Try one large concentrated attack.

He gets these in one of the later books(one in Legacy of the Drow). I don't want to spoil the surprise on hoe he gets them so read fast.

Exactly how many of each types of stat raising tome are there in BG1?
