Help, I Lost the Stone Harp!

Could some kind sole furnish me with the code for the Stone Harp? Dropped it somewhere before I entered the palace and, natch, I can't find it on any save, except to play the entire city over again. Many thanks!

Did you put bundles of arrows or bolts in the bag? The bag counts a bundle of 20 arrows as 20 separate items, so three bundles will fill it up real fast.

Or you can simply let your party kill the golems for the experience. At this point of the game, they didn't seem to be much of a challenge.

Gaxx Shmaxx (Spoiler)

I readily admit I've been playing BG2 s-l-o-w-l-y. I got the game for Christmas and, having savored just about every sidequest, I'm just now at the point of taking on Bodhi for the last time, and am earnestly setting about finishing up the main game before taking on TOB.

Anyway, I've tried to avoid ...

You don't need to sneak by the guards. Simply kill the guards by the sanctuary door and then you take your whole party in and switch the eggs. Nobody will be alerted.

I don't know, but since it's supposed to be very tough, even for a party that's completed all of BG2, I doubt you'd want to try it with a low level party.

In addition to the Gauntlets, I would take Keldorn over to the Adventurer's Mart and buy him the Girdle of Hill Giant Strength. That boosts his STR to 19, and that together with the Gauntlets and the Holy Avenger make Keldorn hell on wheels.

As for +5 weapons "lying in the streets." One of the true ...

Head for the sewers under the Temple District. There's a secret door down there. You'll probably remember the rest. :)

I'm of two minds on the BG1 or BG2 issue. On the one hand, BG2 is obviously the more elegantly designed game, and it show what Bioware and Black Isle learned from the earlier games. I especially don't miss the fixed 640 x 480, slow movement, and all the wandering from one forested area to another in ...

Of course, the method I described in my previous message is the straight-forward and, IMO, more satisfying way of dispatching the dragon. If you just want to kill him and get it overwith: :D

Get yourself a wand of cloudkill. While still out of the dragon's sight cast Wizard Eye. Apply the wand of ...

Durlags Tower was also available in BG1 (w/o ToSC) and is found a couple of screen east and IIRC a little south of Berghost(sp?)
Just to clarify: Durlag's Tower is on the BG1 map, but the quest isn't available without the TOSC expansion.

I would say that, unless you're planning to add another paladin to your party (Keldorn), two-handed weapon proficiency and two-handed weapon style are the way to go. As indicated by the posts above, the Holy Avenger is the reason (and Lilarcor, which you can obtain early in Chap. 2, isn't bad either ...

Captain Irenicus

Anybody else catch David Warner last night as the mad Captain Sawyer in Horatio Hornblower? A very different kind of "heavy" than Jon Irenicus, but another fine performance by Warner.
