No no no! Fighter/Mage combos rely heavily on melee to do damage. Do yourself a favor and put 3 pips in two weapon fighting, 2 in flail, and 2 in whatever (like scimitar, or katana). It kinda depends. Generally Sarevok and Keldorn are thought to be very strong, while Mazzy isn't used as much.
