This is my second time through the game and I can't save or rest my party. I'm a Sorcerer and I've blown my spell wad. I need rest. I'm playing core rules. It's only day two. I rested once in the first dungeon to juice up my spells. Am I trying to rest too often? Can't save either. And no I'm not ...

Although a very minor battle, I personally enjoyed fighting the beastmaster behind CC. I used charm spells so that he was devoured by his own "pets." What can I say, it appealed to my sense of irony.

I just finished BGII as a goody two-shoe Kensai. Now I'm ready to be an evil mage. But is a mage more powerful than a sorcerer and cleric. If so what type of mage? My guess is necromancer. Who is the baddest spellcaster around?

Thanks, I 'll keep looking around but freedom is a level 9 spell and I'm not even close to that level in spells. That mage will probably have to sit tight for a while

Yeah, I've released everyone else. I just got the impression that I should spare that mage's life since there is a refernce in my journal about releasing aa imprisoned mage in the Underdark.

How can I free the mage from the Sphere prison in the Underdark w/out killing him ?

kevin, I just reread your response. Now I see what you are saying. The gnome thought I had 65,000 staffs of curing which he purchased for around 90 gold/staff. That adds up. But there is one problem, I'm certain the staff had three charges when I sold it, not negative one.

kevin, you're right. This did happen prior to my installation of the English patch. I didn't know about the a patch but the load times and lagging game play in the Underdark forced me too learn.

However, I did not sell the staff for 65,000 in gold, I sold it for 5,700,000. Seven figures, not six ...

I'm new to BGII (in fact, I'm new to PC games, unless anyone is old enough to remember the Commodore 64) so I hope my idea of a tip isn't overly obvious. You can sell the staff of curing to the gnome behind the Underdark innkeeper (i.e. the father of the boy you release from the prison) for 5.7 ...
