I'd try a Drow Paladin 3/Sorcerer X. Who cares about an XP hit when you're soloing?
If you go with a Druid, make him with 1 level of Monk... the AC bonus from WIS is still there while shapeshifted!
btw, there is a nice little mod out there that does several things, including allowing a paladin ...

I had forgotten how much i enjoyed modding this game the first time i played it so many years ago.
anywho, I don't know if anybody is still interested, but if so, i have a few simple mods I have found make the game a bit more enjoyable:
1: rangers and bards get a wider variety of spells (about 10 ...

my favorite is summoning a fire elemental (which you can do fairly early on), right in the middle of a group, and as soon as they start to mob it, cast firestorm and flame strike right on top.
elemental completely unharmed, bad guys completely incinerated.
in fact, it was such a useful strategy ...

actually, if you can manage to immobilize your target (hold, paralysis, stun, unconscious, etc.), you can sneak attack them till they are just a mushy puddle on the floor.
dual wielding rogues get really brutal when you have spellcasters along. (the sneak attack is for the first attack for each ...

The anti-goblin dagger does only 3-6 damage vs goblins, it's quite useless.
But there's a very effective anti-undead weapon in the game and you can even turn them.
ah, I'm thinking of the HOF version; it kills gobbos instantly.
btw, that "very effective" weapon you get much later, and really ...

as to the goblins... can't you purchase an anti-goblin dagger from the wife of the lord?
If you are playing the "undead targos" mod, obviously the better choice would be to take undead as your first favored enemy, and buy the goblin slaying dagger.
even without the dagger (it's pricey), I still ...

i occasionally get serious lags with this game too, a reboot seems to fix it for me.
however, it implies that there are some instruction sets in the game that don't play nice with certain processors/chipsets.
try upgrading the drivers for the chipsets your motherboard uses and see if that helps ...

yes, the ac from one level of monk is usefull... if you aren't using the armor mod pack that adds damage reduction to armor.
then, even the bonuses from AC from monk IMO don't outweigh the advantages of damage reduction and specials provided by armor (which incorporate on shift, btw).
the other ...

If you download and install the iwd2 "ease" modpack, and install all the features, I would suggest a druid instead of a sorc.
you will be a jack of all trades, master of everything.
great offensive spells (including a lot of spells previously assigned only to mage), good to excellent defensive ...

... yes, just tested and simply removing the spell i listed from your override directory will fix the problem.
for anybody that decided to go back and play this again, like I did...
enjoy.

...several years later...
turns out what is happening is that somebody modified the wizard spell for animate dead (for one of the popular fixes/mods), and that is overriding the version for the priest.
don't ask me why, but it is.
anyway, the way to fix it is simply to add the extra levels of ...

ack! too much knockdown. you were so close to dev crit! ditch the knockdown until after you get dev crit. you had a lot of the preqs:
power attack
cleave
great cleave
improved crit
(it says you need wep focus, but I didn't when i did mine)
then all you need is overwhelming crit and then
dev crit ...

if u r going to add another class, you should make it one that takes advantage of your already high charisma stat. for example, a few levels (like 3 - 5) of rogue will allow you to get a nice UMD score to be able to use a great many non-class items (and they DO come in handy), as well as being able ...

i hate to say it.. but if you like to roleplay (like me), but don't think your familiar should count against your experience, you can use the cheat code and add the experience lost back in (or as much as you want). i won't post it here, it's not that hard to find if u want to do this.
don't let ...

i was mostly refering to your "if haven't done quest in chapter one note", which, if he hasn't, then the info on how to reset quest states would help.
