Why not try both and find out, eh?

Removing the curse is definitely the better option.
Not only for the experience, but furthur on in the game you'll come upon a fight which will get you a MEGA-item because you removed it.
You'll still be able to obtain the ruby, just not in the same way.

The Friendly Arm is 2 right and one up from Candlekeep.

To have Minsc join you, you have to agree to help him save a girl. Make sure you pay attention to all dialogues. After so much time, he'll turn on you for not helping. He even warns you.
(highlight) -- You'll need to go to the Gnoll Stronghold ...

Dying will happen.

Some hints:
-- Make sure the character has proficiency in the weapon you have them use(for ex. if the main character -you- is good with daggers and bows, make sure you use those)
-- Buy potions, or give the potions you have to the melee characters
-- If a character is taking too ...

The fight against Prat, Tam, Sakul and Bor in the last Candlekeep Catacomb is one I've always liked. It allows for roleplaying and tactics. One is able to use the abilities of any character fully. There are several angles from which to attack. It's a fight that draws me more within the game ...

There is actually a hammer in the house with the dead Dabus. It is either on him or in a box or crate, etc.

There will be none at all for many dialogues.
With conversations involving major plot stuff, there may be more than one line, but in different paragraph beginnings.

Absolutely Overwhelmed

There is so much going on in this game! I feel my brain swelling.
My trouble is that I'm already gaining quest upon quest -- many without seeking. My main quest at the moment is gaining the money for Gaelen.
On top of that, I've got Mae'Var and Trademeet and going to the cemetary, among others.

My ...

Okay.
The Gauntlets are the easiest to get. The Low Lantern is the big boat in S Baldur's Gate(the docks). It only requires a fight.

The Helm also only requires a fight. The fight is in one of the houses in AR0200. That area is the one with the Palace. The house is one just north of the palace ...

Well, how far along are you in the game?
The Blushing Mermaid, Low Lantern, and Ar0200 are all in Baldur's Gate, which cannot be accessed until Chapter 5.

Hey.
I'm pretty sure the workaround is to have Pox smuggle you into the Mortuary. He's under the walkway before the entrance.

I, too, protected Aldeth.
In dialogue mode, when talking to the Druids, the option "Let's talk it out like reasonable men," or some such thing, is given. The Druids, reply, "Blah, blah, blah, No." Therefore, I side with Aldeth.

I've had this problem, too. The fix is easy.

Go to MY COMPUTER, then LOCAL DISK(C), then WINNT.
Go to the REPAIR folder, copy the autoexec.nt file.
Go back to WINNT, then go to the SYSTEM32 folder, Paste the file.

All fixed.

It is funny.
Sometimes I would be checking/playing with inventory when all of a sudden I'd hear a terrible grunt. Returning to the game screen, I expected to be confronted with wolves, or kobolds, or something - nope, just 'Ajantis struck by lightning.'

No, I meant within the game.
Did it take you 50 game days, or 200 game days?

Just curious because I'm on Day 111 already in Ch. 5, and wondered what the average was.

How long has it taken you, game-wise?

Was just curious to know how many days it took for you to beat BG? Did you try to do it as short as possible, or did it take you a massive amount of days?

Possible problems:

-- Did you talk to him beforehand? Choosing certain options will cause him not to talk to you again.

-- Not certain if it is a factor, but how high or low is your charisma? A low one may cause him not to talk as well.

There is definitely a way around it. I'm trying to remember the actions I took.
Try this:

-- Don't let the new save be Quick Save. Make it an original one.
If that doesn't work, try...

-- Going from the last save right in front of the Shop. Walk into another building, walk out, and then try going ...
