Nope, I'm afraid you didn't miss anything, Xan and Branwen both are in the tutorial but not in the game.
Oddly enough, I don't believe that even The Darkest Day (TDD, a huge mod made by TeamBG) includes them, even tho it does include other old NPCs such as Yeslick, Kagain, Xzar and Montaron, among ...

Aubrey-
The dialogues for Sarevok were always there, however, I believe that they appeared randomly, and there were some bugs relating to them. Ascension forces them to occur (I believe it actually links them to events). Therefore, when you d/led it late into the game, all of these things had ...

Hmmm, depends where. If they're on Faerun, I give it to Elminster....granted Gandalf is a demigod, but Elminster's got a whole lot of power behind him...and considering that he's got Mystra/Midnight to help him (and therefore Kelemvor), not to mention all of Mystra's other chosen, I think he would ...

@Aubrey:
no, what Quitch is saying is that you can get a better NPC with an evil party and fighting balthazaar instead of taking him.

That NPC is: (SPOILER)

@Littiz
nope, I was saying that i think Xyx is right...Valygar cannot backstab with his katana, because it is not marked useable by theives. The fact that it's useable by him doesn't matter, the weapon must be useable by thieves for anyone to backstab with it

Just throwing my $.02 in... as it happens, there is a perfect version (statwise) of Gandalf in BG2- Elminster, who seems to be Ed Greenwood's version of Gandalf (pointy hat that's slightly bent, pipe, huge levels in just about every class, might as well be a demigod seeing as he has several Powers ...

Bargoth- simply import a character with the pantaloons in his inventory. You'll find them in the first chapter, behind the trapped painting.

No, Littiz, I think Xyx has it right.

You can only backstab with a weapon normally useable as a theif, which is why staff of the magi won't work. I think what Xyx is saying is that Valygar's katana is flagged as "Valygar only", and so no one can backstab with it 'cause it's not useable by theives ...

Yep, go after Sendai first, she's ...

Bhaal was basically the God of Assassins/murderers- a "moderate" power.

The other two dead Gods (with relation to bhaal) are Myrkul, God of the dead, and Bane, God of Strife. I'm not certain which of the other two was really Bhaal's "overseer", although I have a suspicion that it may have been ...

No, but you won't need one either.

See, once you hit 3 million, the next level up gives you "special abilities". The first one to get is Use Any Item (does what it says) but after that you can get things like "spike traps"...which do, say 20d6 damage per trap. So you shouldn't need that many.

@Xyx-
I didn't mind Malchor too much, because although he's overly powerful, he does make sense, showing up in forgotten realms and all.

The annoying one was Arkanis Gath, who darn well isn't that powerful when he's helping you!

Hmmm, depends on the reason. I've used both in individual parties and currently have them in the same one, which gives a lot of healing power. They're not bad fighters, although Jaheira is a better one than Viconia all things being equal.

However, running a party with Jaheira but no Anomen, Aerie ...

I think that the reason the Wizard Slayer isn't thought of as being all that good is because some people do his job better. Monks, for example, have awesome MR, can wear rings (no armor but they don't need it), and have great attacks.

It's kind of like the Barbarian, although he has some redeeming ...

The reason they put him in is that in BG1, everyone and their brother killed Drizzt, who showed up alone. Of course, in BG1, he had awesome equipment. In BG 2 it's just average.
