Hey there! I had the exact same problem, but now I got it solved. The problem was indeed my cordless mouse and keyboard, but to make it work I plugged both of them into my USB ports. Thanks to Sytze and his link !

The problem was that i use a cordless mouse and keyboard, which the game cannot work with. The only sollution to this (as far is I know) is to plug in the keyboard and the mous via. the USB ports, instead of the regular mouse and keyboard ports...!

Now it all works as it's ...

I have the exact same problem, both with BG I and BG II... And i do have a cordless keyboard and mouse... but I haven't solved my problem yet...

- Valygar
- Anomen
- Keldorn
- Minsc
- Imoen
- PC (Kensai/Mage/Thief)

After a bit o' thinking I think my party is going to look like this:

- PC (Kensai)
- Valygar
- Keldorn
- Minsc
- Imoen
- Aerie

Not quite as "tanky" as before... hopefullt this party will be a bit more fun to play then just a bunch of tanks !

I like having a party of 6, because it makes room for lot's of interesting NPC's. This also gives the party a larger varity of spells, skills and so on... and of caurse the possibillity of using a lot of VERY interesting and different equipment !

Ok... this is the first time I am going to play through BG2, but i have read a lot about it, and theese are the NPC's that i wish to have in my party:

- Valygar as my archer, using a few spells
- Anomen as my fighter and cleric (main healer)
- Keldorn as one o' my tanks
- Minsc as a tank, and maybe ...

I agree with DJ Venom, that class dependent dieties would have been a truly great thing! It would give the game a lot more aspects.
But, if more dieties where added, more cleric special abilities would also need to be added in order to make the followers of each diety unique. Making all that must be ...

Well... I really don't know what my fav. weapon is, but I tend to like big powerfull and legendary weapons... such as Holy Avenger, or Cromfair (don't know if that's spelled right).
Actually I think that hammers are some of the coolest weapons, speacially ...

Hmm... That's really to bad, 'couse I hoped i could get it in the same way you can get the Holy Avenger... but well, I'm just going to hope that i find it then
