Definatly Planetars. Elemental Princes are extremely powerful allies if Jaheira can cast that. Mordenkainens swords are also useful for drawing attacks, as they are immune to most forms of attack. Or you can always cast a few armors of faith until your immune to physical damage .

Isn't the Tarresque the most powerful, hands down? Or is it not considered a monster? Anything that requires -50 hitpoints and then a wish spell to kill has to be the hardest.

If your high enough level for it, use smite. Always knocked them back into a corner stunned for a few rounds with me.

Haer is an awesome tank with his defensive spin ability, although he is rooted in place when thats used. The only drawback I found about him was his low Constitution, but givingh him the belt of fortitude should fix that (constitution to 18 for 8 hours anyone?).
