I played through one full game giving all possible character bonuses (hell bonuses, lum the mad, etc) to my main character, a Monk. I then played through a complete game doing the exact same thing again, solo with the monk. Then I did it again. I now have 98% magic resistance, -18 AC, 25 str, 25 con ...

As a monk, you can easily get over 100% magic resistance. With a cloak of mirroring, the only spell that can touch you is dispel magic and imprisonment. Funny, that... completely invulnerable to spells, but one imprisonment and you're instantly dead, no save... *slight spoiler* as a level 38 monk, I ...

Hardiness Bug?
It's stackable!
It lasts 1 round per 2 levels of the user. You can use it 3 times in a row, to gain 120% resistance to physical damage. At level 40, this will last for 17 rounds. A barbarian only needs to use it twice. 18 rounds is more than enough time to easily turn the tide of battle, when one ...

I ran a several hour test last night, created two characters with the same stats etc and gave them both max level with correct abilities and the best possible set of eq at end game. One was a monk, one was a fighter. First off, the fighter won every time, whether dual wielding or wearing a shield ...

5 boots of speed (you get 2 in SoA, 3 from Saradush) and yes, grandmaster armor. White dragonscale is better on a fighter than a thief, despite the ability to use thief abilities, and any PC character that is a thief would use grandmaster armor.

The reason I started this thread was because I really wanted to play the class, and obviously I don't see how to do it that makes it better than a fighter in any aspect other than the magic resistance. As to the +6 weapons, I was thinking that if I wielded one of those, my # of attacks is reduced to ...
