A good character should heal anyone who asks for help, and a lawful character should aid the party, for the parties sake. Anything else is up to you, although I haven't seen a drop in alignment points if you act contrary to this.

Does anyone know how to script or enable the golem parts needed for golem making machine? I have a lvl 1 sorc/7-RDD which usually is enough to enable the wizardly quests/items, but I am unable to find any of the golem parts.

I think after mulling things over I will drop a level into sorcerer and then go with RDD/epic ranger combo. it will be no doubt very slow going I only hope I can still be fighting big monsters with poor skills!
