Hmm. I'm not familiar with the secret of the east perk, but I'm gonna take the slayer, when the time comes. Critical hits are the only way to get along with pure unarmed character. I don't use any other weapons, not even unarmed weapons so my damage is something like 0-8 against tough opponents ...

I just reached lvl 18 (hooray for me) and did some testing with Silent Death. It seems I got things pretty messed up with those patches last time, 'cause the perk works just like it should.
I did following:
Sneaked near a super mutant (without combat mode) and saved the game. After that I engaged ...
In New Reno, when you give Renesco some new glasses, he asks what you want in return for them. Then you have the option of saying: Someday, and that day might never come, i might call upon you for you to do a service for me. Untill then, accept this as a gift on my daughters wedding ...
isn't there a nice trick by going in combat mode and open the door then run in

or go into combat mode place the bomb (outside the range of the guards)
Sure it's possible. It's likely every living creature will still attack you inside the walls ('cause you shouldn't be there ...
I've read that special encounters are affected by luck only. I recall that u need 9-10 luck to find Cafe of Broken Dreams. I am sure of it, my luck was 7 (thanks to the hubologist in NCR), char was lvl 53 but couldn't find that cafe...

Also having an active motion sensor with u ...
Have u ever tried silent death with melee weapons, that causes much more damage.

I know that Better criticals cause shocking damages with unarmed, u hit 6 damages in the eye but enemy dies instantly even he has 80 hps.

U can even kill with 0 damage, sounds strange but happens anyway ...
*krhm* wasn't there? 13 years (or was it 12?) ;)
It's something like that yes. It's not the timelimit for returning the geck though, but to the whole game. You have to finish it in 12 (or 13) years.

I'm pretty sure the thing is like Deadalready said -you entered the city area with weapons ready, which will angry the polices. You have to remove your weapons from your hands and order everyone in your party to do the same. If those polices are already hostile it's possible you can't do anything ...

If he doesn't accompany you, there's still something to do in Broken Hills. Have you fixed the mine's air purification system? What about the missing people and solving the plot against muties? At least those has to be done to get Marcus with you.

There's a slight bug in those quests ...
I tend to notice that Swing does a lot of damage to poorly armored, or naked, foes. While Jab and Thrust does more damage towards armored foes.

This would make sense. I myself suspected something like that, but failed to notice any difference ...
First, IIRC the animation differences a bit.
Secondly, IMO there is a small difference on damages. IMO those different attack options makes different damages to different critters (lol, 3 different word in one phrase :D ) For example: Knives jab may do for example 4 points damage to ...

I've never noticed any difference between different kind of melee attacks. Thrusts, swings, stabs. They do the same damage as far as I know and AP costs are just the same (at least with the earliest knives, I've never played melee). I think they're there just for extra options and "realism". Can't ...

Hidden meanings in Fallout 2

I just notice a new "hidden meaning" and thought it would be nice to gather them all together. What hidden meanings have you found from the game? I'm meaning some kind of references to a movie, book, anything for example in dialogues. There are so much of them of course, but I bet some of them are ...

No problem. Still, it seems unpatching didn't help at least for your current game. A little stange you have to find the map from New Reno, cause I haven't got any connections between Raiders and New Reno's family until I've found some documents at the Raider's Base.

I allmost have to suggest you ...

You'll get the quest from Vault City's "Sheriff" (was it Wallace, can't remember). It might be your stats are too low, if you don't get the quest from him. Some quests need specific attributes to get required dialogue options.
I don't know about that patch 1.03, but that could be the problem if it ...

Sounds like a bug. Or then you've reached a point where Raider's Base can't be found anymore (Vault City has solved the Raider problem). This sounds unlikely if you're at lvl 11. You do have the quest "Find Raider's base" or something like that in your Pip?

In any case I think something is messed ...

Those information are correct. If you travel straight from Vault City to NCR (click the NCR button on the right) you should spot an unknown place north of Broken Hills. You found a cave there and the Raider's Base within.

I've never heard outdoorsman has any affect to random encounters. Like Kipi said it only gives you opportunity to choose wether you enter them or not (and if you do not, the specific encounter is likely forever lost).

The only things, which I surely know to affect random encounters are luck (higher ...

I'm currently up to unarmed, speech and sneak.

Speech is maybe one of my favourites, 'cause I always tag it. Never tried low int character (those are so boring) and without speech/int one miss so much great dialogues.

With an unarmed specialist sneak is great, like said earlier. I quess it's ...
