Yeh, sadly Keldorn left the group :( I couldn't bring myself to kill him cus I really like him but I have no idea how to remove party members unless you were adding a new one, and the game kept making me fight Keldorn... :(

I would like to go with the same party setup as Windour, but Anomen seems out of place here and I do want him to romance my character. How long do you think it will take for him to do that before I can rotate him with another character?

Yeah.
Even as a non-magic player, i can see that this "evil" setup is very good.

1. Kensai - No.1 Melee
2. Korgan - No.1 Tank / No.2 Melee
3. Edwin - No.1 Mage
4. Viconia - No.1 Healer
5. Jan - No.1 Thief / No.2 Mage
6. Your preference as long as he/she dun clash with the above folks.

Well, I'm not a fan of powergaming, but since I haven't finished BG2 as many times as I'd want to, I guess you could say I'm into balanced gameplay. Roleplaying can't hurt.

In that case, the NPC's we've talked about would make a pretty good party. Korgan is one of the best front liners available ...

I have just started playing SoA again and I am also going with a kensai. Female kensai, that is. Neutral evil.

So if I want a 6 member party, with the possibility of romancing, who would you suggest? I have finished the game with Anomen, Jaheira, Minsc, Imoen, Edwin and Aerie as much as I recall ...

I thought those hooded figures were Balthazar and his monks. They are dressed like monks and Balthazar does have this plan to finish off all the Bhaalspawn himself before commiting suicide. Anyway, it made the most sense to me.

Jan is saved! Kmonster is brilliant. I gave him the cloak of the sewers, turned him into a rat and then back into the turnip loving gnome that he is. Thanks for the help. I love this site.

I do have the cloak, so I will try that ASAP, which will be tonight. And thank you for the idea.

I did try that, but in Gnoll form he can't cast spells, unless that's another part of the bug. I actually wouldn't mind him in that form, I think its kinda funny to think that one of Jan's spells caused an accident. But it would be nice to get the spellcasting back.

Unfortunately for me, I inadventently saved over the one save I had left where he was 'normal.' I didn't realize right away that there was a problem so I wasn't as careful as I should have been. I've run into a weird bug. I have Jan in my party and I use the E-scripts for all the characters. In one battle, Jan polymorphed himself into a Gnoll. After the battle, I took that spell out of his spell list, so he wouldn't do that anymore. After resting, Jan stayed a Gnoll. The option to change ...

This is the first time I used a bard for any length of time, so its been interesting to find what works and doesn't work. That's why I usually do have a full party, there's just too many things I want to try ...

Perhaps I am missing something. When I do that, the notes disappear almost right away, so it doesn't seem like I can do both. Or is it that I have to constantly restart the song?

I have just started another run through and am using a skald for the first time. I know it has a good bard song, but I am finding it hard to leave him just using his song. I usually end up having him firing spells and arrows. Am I missing out? Do most people use the bard song or not?

Let's keep in mind that things were done in the BG series that hadn't been done before. Romances were a new thing. So yes, maybe now, years later, we can see where they could have improved them, but I for one am impressed with how good they are considering it was the first time it was tried. 4 ...
