I was thinking of starting a new solo game with a monk, however I read in some posts that he was unable to touch Melissan in the final battle. Why is this? I once used SK to create a Kensai/Mage/Thief (yes I know thats cheesy) in SOA and he was Uber. Nothing could touch me. Someday if I find the time, I plan to use the same char to tackle TOB. Pity I deleted my final save with the char.

I bought the greater belt of swordmanship (the one that gives slashing resistance) & beat them on my second try.

I had the barbarian henchman. Before I went in I swallowed potion of bull's strenght, potion of speed, barkskin & bless.

I think I'll order NWN with gameplay. They've never let me down before.

Also England will be going all the way to the final. I think this could be their year.

What chance do we have of getting a relatively bug-free game?

Edwin is definitely a must-have. He is the best mage BY FAR. However in Imoen & Nalia you have two very similar characters. Hostile interactions between NPCs have been greatly reduced in TOB. NPCs are less prone to leave your party or kill each other.

The best method I found was to have my kensai weild a 2H sword, since this gives him a greater reach & allows him to be further back from the action.
