Solaufien - Fighter/Mage Drow - come on thats all you need to hear.
Keldorn - generally I despise Inquisitors but lately their use in BG has been ummatched.

I see a F > Cleric and F > Thief - good choices.

Take that bit further tho - get into a specialized area, such as Kensai > Thief and Berserker > cleric.

Your selection of characters struck me as odd to be honest.

I wouldn't imagine that group to be the most versatile or strong to use.

If i'd had to pick three i'd opt for a dwarf barbarian (hp and warhammer/axwe combo) , halfling fighter/thief use with tuigans bow and short sword and a ...

In a team its best to have a character up front with strong melee potential - someone that has an edge but the hp so survive at the forefront of every enemy you come across. A max of 81hp isnt the best - even a bard has an hp of 140+ while the monk has 150+ - look at that in comparison of ...

I know but when HLA kicks in and Caromsyr drops into your lap it would be good in having that profeciency even then there are other THS you can use in the meantime - besides, given the blade limitied profeciency what else you going to spend it on.

I recently created a bard and can agree on Haer'Dalis.

But I think you should be a blade for your main protaginist and here's why.

You can pump your stats to 18-16s for respective strength, dex, con, int etc to allow for the best possible bard.

You might want to try casting the level 1 spell armor that lasts for nine hours then put on some armor - i found this useful when going through extensive dungeons that had no mages in it or was at an early level like BG1 nashkel mines or in irenicus's dungeon.

Although if i remember a ranger's fall is due to their reputation falling beneath a certain level - check what reputation you are before considering the effects of knocking off one of your companions.

If gaining Keldorns Armor - which provides free action and +1 all savings throws i think is worth it - then just get the +1 CON - its not like a monk needs many stats - 17 18 17 10 10 10 + any free stats isn't hard to come by.

Only trouble is I find a sorcerer too limited so I may have to opt for a cleric>mage dualled at 14.

How odd - i dualled once to a level 24 thief from a level 22 fighter - did i end up wasting my by doing so ?

I always thought that dualling at that late gave me the two fighter HLA that were actually useful plus hp/profs etc

Not to take anything away from the previous post but I'm look as to why I should dual at such levels but also if dualling at a level above will gain something other than wasting experience that could be used after I had dualled.

When should you ideally be dualling a fighter over to a theif whilst being able to gain the most in terms of skill points, hit points, proficincies etc ?

I plan to go through BG2 TOB with tactics, ascension, apack installed with only 3 characters.

My favourite 3 characters that I have completed BG TotSC and Icewind Dale with are the following:
