Animalism is your friend.

You can sail through almost evereything with animalism. I was killing 3 - 5 enemies at the same time with carefull use.

A vampires "Power" in VTM comes from his abilitys and disciplines, so it is possible for a 9th gen to be more powerfull than an 8th gen however the 8th gen has more potential to be more powerfull.
