One word of advice though -- if you're playing DS and want to train everyone, try to gain influence with Bao-Dur and Handmaiden/Disciple early on because you usually have to take some LS points with them.

Might be dependant on Atton's current influence compared to the Disciple's. I know for male PC's sometimes Visas' influence needs to be zn XX amount higher than Handmaiden's for certain cutscenes to trigger. (and vice versa)

That's what I thought too, but I went through the game without gaining ...

Never tried the female orientated romances as Atton is a scumbag and Disciple a complete dork.

Trust me, the incomplete romances are one my biggest complaints about this game (still love it, but, eeesh ). As far as I know, you don't get any dark side or light side points no matter which way you go for this side quest. At least, I never did. I've always completed the trial before going to the Sith base, so I'm not sure if there's anything there that relates ...

As far as I know, Atton's real name, whether it's Jaq or something else, is never revealed in the game. I think it was printed in a guide book as 'Atton "Jaq" Rand' but all we get in the actual game is 'Atton Rand' and some innuendo suggesting that it's not his actual name. If Obsidian intended to ...

I haven't tested it but I'm pretty sure that many acts that let you gain ls or ds points overlap with influence gain/loss opportunities. Not for me, Atton liked it when I preformed acts of mercy in his presence. When I helped people on Nar Shadaa I had him and the Handmaiden with me, he became a jedi soon enough. One that embraced the lightside at that.

Is the Duros stopping you before you go in? You have to use the console outside the door to get into the actual shuttle bay. You might have a bug and need to reload otherwise.

Yeah, like Des said, it is the easiest one to pull off whether you're light side or dark side. All the other possible jedi seem to like light side acts, but good ol' Atton loves the dark side! :devil:

Another shocker for me is the fact that (Spoilers, please highlight) I saw Malak with his metal jaw removed, exposing his jawless face. It gave me a shock when I saw it and that scene really creep me out, especially the vocabulator stuck below his upper jaw.

Don't get me wrong, I like KOTOR 2. And I like the first one. But in terms of having a complete, cohesive story (whether or not you think the story is good is a different issue) for both light side and dark side options the original KOTOR has an advantage over the second. As I recall, you can always ask him something like, "How did you get here, T3?" and if your Intelligence is high enough, you can follow that conversation thread through to talking about his behavior core.

In addition to everything previously said, I love how every character (well, pretty much) can equip implants -- so convenient when you want to boost stats or skills.
