Can't get an answer on the IWD page, does rep have an effect in IWD I can't find it on the char record or inv page?

How does rep work in IWD? It is not on the char record. and I only get a message saying rep was lost when I kill the elf for his magic swaord in the inn @ easthaven. Whats up doe s rep play a part?

Ust Natha egg quest
I have just received the quest from Phaere to replace the silver dragon eggs with fake eggs, I have tried stealth, frontal assult and charming, but can't seem to get the eggs without having everyone attack me. Any suggestions?
