Thank you! :) Next time round I'll put more into Cunning.

I chose dwarves as my allies - after all, Tali was a dwarf herself, so I felt it's what she would do. ;) And they were pretty good. Tough little blightes, plus having some natural resistance to magic attacks. My team all 'died', but I still ...

I intend to! :) Right now, though, I am having problems with that last fight on top of Draken. Even though I have given in and shifted to 'easy' difficulty setting, we still keep getting wiped. Even the damn ballistas, though they do a lot of damage, are against me as they keep jamming and she ...

I agree with most of that - and don't really disagree with any of it; it's just I ain't tried Ranger yet, and I only just got Assassin activated and we are heading for the finale. But my dwarf rogue really rocks, even so. She can take out pretty much anything as well as any Warrior, even toe to toe ...

And I went thro enropy tree (as suggested) and paralyze never works and I put a bunch of points magic still didn't work. The only skill I found useful was drain life.

That's odd. Bosses and some elites resist paralysis, but I never have trouble with normals. I literally put all my points into ...

For me, the Warrior specs are the most difficult choice. They can all be pretty useful, just depends on how you want to play. That said, I pretty much always take Berserker and then whichever one I think will benefit that particular party.

Templar talents are very useful against mages...useless ...

Blood Mages kinda suck in my opinion tho.

SH aren't that good except for revive and the generic heal is all you need really that's what health poultices are for and I found them to suck because they can't fight solo worth crap.

Well, personally I don't think any of the mage specs are very good ...

I think Duelist is the best. The sustained talent adds +10 to attack and defense with both melee and ranged weapons. Pinpoint Strikes makes all your melee attacks criticals for a decent period of time.

Assassin is a close second, but all their talents other than Mark of Death only matter for ...

I always used a crossbow and then dual-wield in hth.

Wynne doesn't teach any specialization. IIRC, that is available only from books sold in the Wonders of Thedas, Denerim or (DLC) Warden's Keep.

Now that you mention it, I think you're right. I unlocked it on my first playthrough, but forgot where.

EDIT: According to the walkthrough Wynne does ...

I definitely preferred IWD to IWD2. I thought the story was more engaging.

IWD2 had more variety in terms of places to go, but I just never felt compelled to continue in the same way as I did with IWD. I had the same problem with BG2. I know it's sacrilege, but I hated the BG2 story. Having never ...

Personally, I prefer the halfling with the Dex bonus. They make good ranged attackers. And I like the halfling portraits better. ;-)

Nice! Though I want to do more with Dual Weapon, I think you were probably wise to go for Survival instead - I might just copy you in that - and I'm doing Poisons rather than Trapmaking. VERY useful!

Either dual-wield or archer works. Just depends on how you want to play. I've never been into ...

Dunno. I've only played Commoner. This is my first full run, not yet complete. I chose Commoner because... well - I don't have much time, in RL, for 'the Nobility'. And I don't think they are any better in games!

I like both origin stories for the dwarves (though my fave is city elf ...

*SPOILERS*

The best, by far is The Rose's Thorn. You can buy it from a vendor in Orzammar Commons just outside the Diamond Quarter. It's expensive though (128,000 or so).

There are two Thorn of the Dead Gods. The lesser one can be bought in the pub in Lothering (worth buying, since it's the best ...

Personally, I prefer Spirit Healer and Blood Mage. they both give a boost to spellpower or magic (+2 each), even if you don't use the spells (which I don't, other than group heal).

Arcane Warriors can be powerful, but I prefer to blast rather than bash.

Shapeshifter is a waste.

Yeah... but looking at what Wynne does, I doubt I will be such a good healer, cos I have Wynne operate from Tactics, so she just does stuff. If I was running a healer myself it might be another kettle of fish altogether!.

Just take the Spirit Healer specialization (which you can try to learn from ...

I found rogues to be generally superior to warriors.

I split my points between dex, cunning and constitution after getting enough strength to wear Wade's drake scale leather. With the rogue talent that substitutes cunning for strength the damage was far superior to a shield warrior and comparable ...

Usually patches have to make changes to the "exe" file, but a no-cd crack replaces the original "exe" file, so you are probably out of luck.

Spoilers Ahead

One moment that really made me laugh was on a Mage's Guild quest (the one to save the informant). I head into the ruin to be greeted by a battlemage who urges me to follow him and rushes down the stairs. I draw my weapon and run after him, then WHAM! He is crushed by the trap at the ...
