@ Jedi, yeah I think that 100 is the limit - I've never personally rolled one though.

The best I've rolled for a half-orc Barb (and dwarf Barb) has been an 89.

Shortly after that I've used Shadow Keeper ever since to divide the 100 on all the rest of the char's I've created, just to save time ...

Yeah, the rage does take care of those pesky little spells of maze and imprisonment :) . I tried the same char starting with a fighter/druid and used Shadowkeeper to change the kits to beserker/druid and found him to be very powerful as well.

As far as duelling, I did as VonDondu did and started a ...

It's no secret that I favor powergaming and most of my knowledge is with Barbarians but on my quest for the best fighter/powergaming char, I've created one that's the best so far.

I downloaded the G3 tweak pack and installed the Shapshifter re-balancing mod then started a regular fighter/druid char ...

After reading most of the older posts (2001 to about 2003) I will have to concede a couple of things;

1) This topic (thread) does come up every so often so to those who have had these threads before this one I apologize and thank you for them.

2) As long as the Wizard can use the Staff of Magi and ...

A couple of months ago someone sat on and broke my ToB disc.....ok it was me....anyway I went online at Amazon.com and bought just the ToB disc from one of the vendors listed there. I think it cost less than $20 US with shipping. The disc came boxed with the manual included.

Hope this helps

@ Jedi I apologize, for some reason I had you confused with someone else.

However my statement will still stand as a general statement.

Lark's summary is very comprehensive and I learned alot, however it's a little one dimensional.

When battling one-on-one it's more two dimensional, more like a ...

I would have one in Warcry and split the rest between GWW and Hardiness. Sometimes being surrounded by a bunch of baddies you can get rid of about half of them most of the time. MR *sets* your resistance at 40%, if you had more then you have lost it and can't build on it. IMO if you have the right ...

@ Jedi Please don't take this personally, because I will make this statement again, when a spellcaster can use contingencies and sequencers it's ok but when a fighter uses a cloak of mirroring or stack hardiness or use potions and scrolls it's nothing but pure cheese......please if you can use it in ...

@ Crenshinibon On my game with an older patch hardiness stacks, so a barb with 20% + 2 hardiness = 100%.

Also when you create a beserker at the beginning of a new game the description of the beserk includes protection from imprisonment and the barbs i've played have yet to be imprisoned while ...

You can try Amazon.com or google Throne of Bhaal or I think Gamebanshee (here) or as a last resort you can try e-bay. I think it's very worthwhile for several reasons.

Hope this helps

1) Would a ranger/stalker have the same advantage as the monk?

2) If the caster sees that the fighter goes invis and decides while in time stop to *nuke* the area with lets say cloudkill or fireball will the mage take damage as well? If so then the fighter will hope that his prot/hps/saves are ...

@ Jedi or Crenshinibon

I've invited Sator over to look at this thread and would like to ask you two the same question I had for him,

If the fighter goes invisible as you are casting time stop, can you target him to use the mindflayer tactic?

Thanks

@ Lark

There is a potion of magic protection that gives you 50% magic protection for 10 rounds or until dispelled and,

there is a potion of magic shielding that gives you 50% resist to magic damage for 3 turns.

I have bought both from Roger the Fence in the sewers.

The inventory list does have a ...

If the romance is really messed up and has ended I hear that the only way to get it going again is to use shadowmaster (shadowkeeper?) and reset the global settings. But I would try the other things first.

Balance

@ Jedi Sauraus, I agree on what you said about balance in your post and I'm sorry for the misunderstanding about what balance I was trying to get at.
Yes the game was meant to be played with a party and what you described is as balanced as it gets. My first time thru was with the ...

Fighter vs Mage forum

I would like to open this thread with the intention of letting the fighter class players exchange ideas and tactics and just vent if they feel so inclined about how unbalanced the game is toward spellcasters. Yes magic is the centerpiece of the game, using it or protection from it and sometimes both ...
