I'd like to play BG2 on my laptop without swapping CDs. (Yes, I've done the full install)

Is there a semi-recent patch for this? My Google results turned up threads from 2002 and 2004. I want to make sure I don't crash the game and need to re-install.

I had the "save failed" error message...

It's Christmas, so it's time for me to break out BG2 again. However, I was having problems reinstalling it with Windows 7, I kept getting the "Save failed. Quit game?" error message.

I ended up wiping it and re-installing it outside the "Program Files ...

I noticed a lot of these similarities as well. Maybe I'm stretching it, but I inferred a call-out to Jan Jansen when my PC said "This reminds me of the time..."

On a whim, I changed Aerie's appearance from "chunks" to "female elven cleric" and she came back with Harper's Call. AND the innkeeper will now let me sleep.

I just looked at global variables but nothing leapt out at me (i.e. nothing like AERIE IS DEAD or AERIE BLOWED UP REAL GOOD). Should I be looking for something specific?

I guess I wasn't clear, though. I have Shadowkeeper (SK) - that's how I know she's in chunks and her state flag is exploding death. I can't seem to edit the state flag in Shadowkeeper - I didn't bother to change her appearance from "chunks". I changed her HP to 0 from ...

Does Minsc in fact have room for the sword? Is the first problem that he has the room, and for some reason doesn't keep Lilacor?

By the way, you can use CLUA Console controls to simply materialize the sword in your inventory. If you want to go that route, just ask--since you've done everything ...

I've always wanted to have both Korgan and Edwin in my party, but I've never been able to successfully play an evil party. Oh, but you can create your own party in BG/BG2. Just start a game in multiplayer mode and you'll see. Of course, you'll miss all the party dialogues, but if the NPCs really bug you it's the way to go.

I dusted off my copy of IWD a few months back and played it until the end. I really enjoyed it and I'd certainly recommend it (you can probably get it for dirt cheap, too).
