Yes.. Aragorn from LoTR was a dual wielding Ranger. In the last movie, when he becomes "the King", someone even tells him he has to "abandon your ranger ways, and become the one true king", or something to that effect.

There are many people which play different mods so there will be no right answer for everyone. Oh wait, there is. This topic is about bg1. Any mod which changes balance is mods problem, not the game's, and concern of the player who using it. I really couldnt care less about people using mods XYZ. I ...

How can you say this. What does have another game or mods have to do with anything. Regardless of whether composite bows in BG2 actually do apply anything to damage, which they by design dont do in bg1 nor in nwn1/2. I actually went ahead and made a 25 str comp. bow archer in BG2. He did 7 damage ...

In BG, slings do apply strength bonus to damage, and bows do not. Simple as that. In NWN1/2 there is a "mighty" modifier which lets you add some of the str bonus to damage. Which is ironically the same as in BG, where most bows do have an additional damage bonus on them already. I dont ...

Just to clear something up.. (This is probably only available while running Tutu)

According to AD&D 2nd ed rules, Composite bows (Composite long bow for example) apply your DAMAGE BONUS from your STRENGTH SCORE to your bows DAMAGE MODIFIER..

For example, a character with a high strength score, who ...

Funny moments.. non-scripted

Been getting knee deep in BG1 lately, and come across a few rather humorous moments while playing.

The first happened in Beregost with the Halfling (or gnome?) that pickpockets you in the Inn after he gives you a mission.. I didn't realize he was a quest giver and realized he pick pocketed me, so ...

No offense, but why? I mean, intellectually I agree with you. Just as in A Tale of Two Cities, we know that Charles Darnay continues to live after Sydney Carton takes his place at the guillotine, still, Dickens removes him from the book. That's it. Once you've rejected Garrick, we can speculate all ...

Concerning those mentioned: There *has* to be a place they go. I think Garrick probably stays in Bergoth somewhere..Possibly the inn/tavern. I just haven't checked since the first run-in with him.

Okay, well, the PC's in particular, I have not seen since I rejected them.. and I just went to the Gnoll Stronghold and killed all the Gnolls that I could find but did not have Minsc in the party.. I'd kinda like Minsc and his wife in my party.. I'm hoping I didn't miss the opportunity to do so.

Rejected NPCs, where do they go?

I've come across Xan, Garrick, and Minsc and rejected them all to join the party.. Where do I go to find them again if I want them to join later in the game?

A mod question.

I haven't played BG2 in a few years, but I seem to recall a mod which allowed you to set up weapon "sets", where you could use a hotkey to swap out different weapons.. For example:

If you put a 1h weapon (say, a bastard sword) in one weapon slot and a short bow in another weapon slot, you cannot ...

I think that for Tutu like SOA the game pauses when you enter the backpack/inventory screan and you can change weapons around that way, but you cannot change armor during battle.

I understand that.. What I want is a "fast" way to switch weapons setups without having to enter the inventory screen.

Just installed TuTu and got it working fine. Game looks great. One problem remains:

When carrying a bow in one of your quick-weapon slots, it disables your ability to carry a shield, or make use of a two handed weapon, or use two weapon fighting.

I believe I used to have a mod which allowed you to ...

Bg 1 original doesn't have 2 weapon fighting. Download Tutu, this takes all features of bg 2 to bg 1.

Got a link or should I search it? Am I going to have to start a new game to use it or will it integrate everything automatically?

*Edit:

Just read up a bit on Tutu.. I loaned my BG2 CD's out ...

No two-weapon fighting?!

I played BG2 a few years ago, and my character class of choice has always been Ranger... mainly because of two weapon fighting.

I've decided to pick up a copy of BG1, finish the game, and take my character to BG2 and run that all the way through as well. But, after selecting proficiencys (1 in ...

The lich I had the most problems with was the twisted rune. Not so much because of the lich himself but because of his minions. I ended up casting fire storm in the back of the room to slow down the mage and her demon, a few sunrays for the lich and the vampire, smacked the hell out of the beholder ...

Ding dong, the Lich is dead.

I turned my player into a slayer, had Aerie with the Staff of the Magi, Keldorn with the Holy Sword, whacked him for a good 15 seconds and he was gone. I cast a bunch of boosters before the battle and made sure Aerie had spell immunity on her. I did lose 2 rep points ...
