Once a boss is dead, they are dead.

You can try making a character online and running back but the end stage bosses don't pop up.

Worst case, beat the boss online and have a friend make a game who hasn't beaten the boss.

So I was playing earlier today and I got the ??? guy completely to 0 and killed him (don't ask how). He then dropped a Mysterious item which was then added to my journal under quest items.

What the heck does this mysterious thing do!?

I agree, I would go with a ranged type to round out your bases.
This is the best option because your are utilizing more of the loot dropped.

Either do Ranged straight or a Blood Assassin.
I like BE's, if you build them right, you can be doing some real nasty damage.

Pretty Easy Fix

Well i think i have pretty easy fix for your situation. If I am thinking correctly just make sure to do the follow;
1.) Before you SAVE and EXIT make sure to SAVE the Game session. Give it a name to. This should save your multiplayer game. Just a simple save and exit saves ...

For the most part the extra difficulties add to the reply value of the game. Its more or less an option for people to play through again and collect 'better' gear or make more powerful characters. If it gets boring, try DS2: Broken World expansion. Aside from that if ...

Yeah. Just from the shear difficult I stuck with fighting him. Went through a lot of health potions and mana potions. Nonetheless, pretty decent drop. Now, when I run through the game I just tend to avoid them if I know where they are!!
