I had heard that you could pickpocket Kangaxx before he turned hostile and get 2 rings of Gaxx. My problem is that he turns hostile so quickly (in nano seconds) that I don't have a chance to pickpocket him--even when Jan is standing right next to him. How do you get around this?

Just out of curiosity, how many days does it take others to finish the game? I took 106 days on my first time through. The second time is taking longer.

Fighters get 10 stars in all. If you are dual-wielding, it's a good idea to put 3 stars in that style. That leaves 7 to distribute between weapons. A good choice is 5 in longsword, 2 in warhammer. Celestial Fury is quite a good katana, but there are many more longswords in the game.

I have had Jaheira in my party from the beginning and have completed almost all the Athkatla quests. I am now in Spellhold. But I have never had any dialogue initiating the Jaheira harper quest. What about reputation? Is that a factor? I was doing great until my rep hit 19. Jaheira then went into her balance spiel. Have I screwed the romance or will she screw me if I steal some goods from a shop?

OK, I have just gone to the thread posted by Weasel and I think I understand the problem. If you kill the guy that shows you the way down, you screw yourself. I don't know how to use CLUAconsole (whatever that is). (I would really like to know, by the way.) I just went back to the ghoul town, killed some ghouls I had missed earlier, and picked up the gauntlets. I'm really not making this up. Honest. I really did it (today).

I have her wielding Rashad's Talon, a +2 scimitar that the genie in Trademeet gave me as a reward for killing the rakshasa. There is also a good club called gnasher something. I use the scimitar and a sling.

I have read many messages here that refer to 'cheat codes' (console, global etc.). My stupid question is this: just where do you type that stuff? Is the game running at the time, or do you do it somewhere else?

Weasel's experience does not match mine. I also forgot to pick up the dexterity gauntlets when I killed the Eye. I just picked them up from Ghoul town no problem. There were some living ghouls there still. I don't know whether this makes a difference. But I got the gloves some 20 days after killing ...

Keldorn said three hours, not three days. And the journal gives the day number AND the date. I have checked some saved games and the clock is always one day behind the journal. Is this the same for others?

This is a stupid question, but just where do you type all that CONSOLE stuff? Can you do it in the game? In DOS? I'm not a nerd and so am completely lost.

Why is that when Cernd or Jaheira shapeshift they only get their current hitpoints, battered and bruised from the continuing fight, but when Faldorn does it she changes status from 'near death' to 'uninjured'? I have fought her four times and each time she has wrested victory from the jaws of defeat.
