This is my first time playing IWD but I just finished the BG series and want to give the infinity engine another go...a couple of quick questions about creating a party:
I played around w/ importing characters but was surprised that a couple were already level 12...it seems Easthaven is designed for ...

Is there a trick to a successful backstab? My typical scenario is sending in my thief (Imoen, playing ToB)) unseen and striking from behind with a ashort sword...seems like I almost always miss. Does it require a dagger? Do I need to click on one of the buttons before the attack to indicate backstab ...

I'm having trouble getting out of the gate on ToB. I'm stuck in the Abyssal Fortress (not wanting to help Sarevok, of course) but Solar has come and gone without unlocking the room for my first test. I've checked the ToB walkthrough and it seems as though it should be straight ...

I AM taking a lot of guff from the members. I suppose I should address now as I'm heading in to that city next, which is bound to get ugly. Good fun.

Aside from that, the gods remain unknowable. I continue to view blind adherence to a religion or atheism as weakness.
It's not so bad not knowing once you get used to the notion (or lack of).
