I bought these games when they were first released and they sat on my shelf forever. After a recent job loss I picked them up and just finished BG1 with EasyTutu (much to my wife's chagrin).
While BG1 was fun, I am totally floored with BG2. It's a very polished game thus far. I have been playing ...

Finished!
All,
Thanks for all the help finishing BG1. I completed it this morning. The thing that did the trick is backstabbing Sarevok. I somehow got him to chase my thief (me) around the room and I had gone back and got some invis potions as well as hid behind statues, etc. I used the Staff of ...

OK, so I just met Sarevok and his friends inside the Temple of the Undercity. I am having a devil of a time killing him. First, here is what I have installed and my party composition:
EasyTuTu
BG1NPC Pack
Hard Times
Me Fighter 6, Mage 6, Thief 7
Khalid Fighter 8th
Minsc Ranger 8th
Yeslick Fighter ...

I collected a lot of ankheg shells and brought them to Fenten in BG to sell as I have read he buys them. The first time I talked to him he directed me to Gerde in the Farm area south of BG. Before leaving I wanted to see if he would buy the ones I already had. So I ...

Restoration removes level drain, and if I recall correctly, it's useless in Baldur's Gate I. It must be a component added by Tutu.
The spell you're thinking of is called Resurrection.
Yes, you are correct. And I am fairly certain I was using Resurrection (not restoration), but I will have to ...

Thanks!
Hi Fellas,
Thanks for all the great ideas. I ended up completing the wyvern cave after I finished the cloakwood mines. It seemed a lot easier (although I did lose one of my party members and had to go back to temple and raise dead). I used an Insect Swarm on one of the big ones and ...

Hi,
I am clearing the Cloakwood Sector 4 map and while I killed the shadow druids in the southwest corner I am having a devil of a time trying to kill the two adult wyveryns and two baby wyverns in the cave and am not sure why. My party consists of:
Me (F/M/T)
Minsc
Khalid
Jaheira
Imoen (dualed to ...

Some creatures are immune to backstab, undead, constructs and giant sized ones.
Move silently isn't needed for backstabbing, it's nice if you want to scout an area for a few minutes while staying hidden, if you only hide when combat is going to start you don't need it.
At the next level up I'd ...

After your character is detected while hiding in shadows, the move silently skill determines how long you stay hidden for, thus still giving you the opportunity to either retreat or backstab before you're fully seen.
OK, so I tried putting 50 in Hide in Shadows with Move Silently still at 25. I ...

You'll need "hide in shadows" more than "move silently", since you first have to pass a "hide in shadows" check before you ever can have "move silently" check, sneaking behind an enemy and backstabbing can be done without passing a "move silently" check.
If you use an invisibilty spell or ring you ...

Hi folks,
I am playing the original BG1 with EasyTutu. Thus I am using the BG2 engine.
I have a F/M/T and I just leveled up in my Thief class. I am trying to determine how to split the points up. I have read that BG1 only used "Stealth" which I assume was MS/HiS combined into one skill?
If so ...

I understand what you are saying, but this will likely be my first and only playthrough of the game. I have too many other games I am waiting to play.
So the reason I decided on EasyTuTu is because I tried just BG/ToSC by itself and the resolution was killing me. With EasyTuTu I can at least play ...

Hello,
I was wondering how many of you have used the mod described here:

It sounds interesting, but I am curious how much it will effect the gameplay and enjoyment of Baldur's Gate for someone that has never played the game before ...
