Obviously something went wrong on the download. You should see the game files under:

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\vampire the masquerade - bloodlines

If you don't, re-install. Right click the file in the STEAM games browser and select "Delete local content". Once it moves to uninstalled ...

Likely an incompatibility between the histories and the skins you chose. I dont know exactly what the histories mod adds, but The Unofficial patch has been adding histories for years now and is pretty bug free. CompMod (which is based on the Unofficial Patch) also has histories and some outfit packs ...

clandoc is one way. You can also use the console in game. Use the commands

vstat get <DISCIPLINE> 1

to activate a discipline. And then follow that with another call:

vstat get <DISCIPLINE> 1

to raise the value.

You can get rid of disciplines by using

vstat sell ....

The most active modding forum is the modding area at planetvampire. Game Banshee forums are nice, but most of the activity has to do with non-modding related posts.

VTMB is 5 years old, so its user base is smaller than other communities like Fallout3. That said, there are only like 5 or 6 mods for ...

The bug may in fact be an issue with 6.3. The problem is,if you sent a save game to the patch author and it had a mix-match of map nodes from various patch versions, it would be impossible for him to figure out if the problem was introduced by 6.3, or if it is a relic of 5.7 or if it has something ...

I'm relatively certain that the save game is your issue. VTMB saves all map node data in the save games. This is why that gun that your enemy dropped is still on the ground if you return to the map. The problem is most patches and mods add new nodes to the maps. If you have never visited a map ...

After you are done issuing your commands, try issuing the command "hideconsole" to hide the console instead of using the [X] or the tilda. See if that works for you.

As for your histories issue.. histories were not included with the original game. They were restored by Wesp with the Unofficial Patch. So if you are seeing histories, then you have some version of Wesp's unofficial patch installed.

In general, if you install any other mods on top of Wesp's patch ...

Use the tilda to open AND close the window. Dont click the [X] in the top right corner. Furthermore, always return to the Save\Load menu before opening console.

I suspect starting a brand new game is the only way to fix the issue. And even then there are no guarantees.

Start a new game. When you get to the tutorial, open the console and type
"map sp_giovanni_4". This will take you strait to the chang brothers fight. I would use the console commands ...

Is it possible that he didn't start a new game after installing the patch. That would cause issues. Though rarely have I seen using pre-patch save games actually crash the game. Normally things break in a different way (like people not walking around in the maps).

To rule out an issue with the 6.2 patch, your best bet is to contact Wesp. Maybe send him a save game right before the crash. I normally use transferbigfiles.com. You can send the save game file to yourself and then post the link here. Probably want to start a new thread with "Potential 6.2 bug ...

There aren't many (compared to other games like NwN or HL). There is the companion mod, the quest mod, the plus patch, the PnP Mod (that adds the clans) and a weapons mod that changes most if not all the weapons.

If Larry is dead, there isn't much you can do. The game doesn't have a console command that brings NPCs back to life.

It would be possible to integrate in the changes from the 6.1 basic patch. It is unlikely that I could intergrate in the changes from the Plus patch.

I'm waiting for 6.2 and then I plan on upgrading the Mod to his latest. The goal is for CompMod 2.0 to be "up to date" when it comes out. I don't ...
