Yes, you can increase the Charisma with level ups, but it will be to slow for you.

You best bet is to get Dalekeeper and fix you sorceror. Charisma is the MOST important stat. for the sorceror. I would drop your INT and WIS to 10 and Inrease the CHR to 16.

18 would be better so maybe also drop STR ...

Try to pick locks or cast the knock spell.

Just tested Carsomyr and the previous posts are correct. It is not that powerful of a sword without the dispel magic effect.
Maybe next time I use Keldorn I will upgrade the Purifier and have him dualwield with Arguvial(?). That will free up a ST belt.

You will end up in the Underdark. You can either go there directly with the portal or you can go with Sameon(?). I do the latter because you can the do extra quests. Get more (XP and loot).

I'm not sure there are any clues. I've always used trial an error. Once I get the first wrong response; then I know the damage is from fire. I run everyone out. I buff one person (with alot of HP's) with all the anti-fire protection I can. Then trial and error.
