Why are you acting like people are stupid when they are just trying to help you?

"KEY22" was in response to your original request for Mazzy's jail cell key. You said you already read about CLUA so I assumed that once I told you the code you could handle it from there. SK is extremely simple to use ...

When in doubt on a code use SK or near infinity to look it up.

The code for this key appears to be "KEY22"

@kopywrite
Yeah thats consistent with my tests. The cutoff for actual dispelling was level 10. Higher than that and success rate is 0 in my tests (though I couldn't rule out a very small chance). Why it can work against monsters who appear to be higher level than that I have no idea. Poking through ...

I remember it seeming to work against high level caster types also but I can't figure out whats going if it works against them but not against Jan in my test. Why would the engine be treating these things differently?

Thats very interesting leonardo and merits some examination if we can come up with situations where we're sure that Carso is dispelling against high level monsters. Note that the message "dispel effects" doesn't mean anythign was actually dispelled, it said that all the time in my tests even when ...

Just for the record I do not keep changing his gear or abilities, you just keep saying I do. Aspects that weren't specified I added to early on but otherwise left it untouched. His gear is not supposed to be optimal for this fight. Some people have speculated on the advantage of Keldy having other ...

Did a little bit more testing. The high level stuff all was the same but there does appear to be a substantial chance of dispel failing vs level 9 and possibly lower so my first low level test just got lucky it appears. Making Carsomyr even sadder than I thought.

Carsomyr does bypass spell ...

As I understand it you have to get a certain number of points for your answers or else Tashia thinks you're too dull. So don't get them all wrong but missing one is ok.

I'd let Vic do more of the healing and let J have fewer heals memmed. Clerics can actually fight a bit, plus they get boatloads of spells for summon/buff. Cleric is not the optimal power addition to the other 5 since J is enough cleric for the game, but who needs optimal power. She ought to be a fun ...

@xYx: I'll agree with most of what you said there (I'd better since I said it too) but we were trying to compare individual weapons against each other so we can't calculate numbers like damage per round for dual wielding without assuming something about the other hand. The damage per swing (not per ...

In case I wasn't clear there: Carsomyr was always failing to dispel against level 12 characters who had no immunities or protections of any kind beyond the stoneskin I was trying to have it dispel. This leaves me wondering if it ever works at all.

Ok further testing done. SKed Jan down to level 1 ...

Actually from the files the SotM dispels at power 0 IIRC. This is apparently a flag for no-fail dispel success. I should check it against a level 40 character to be sure but I have never seen it fail. Carsomyr is supposed to be level 15 dispel, or at least thats what it looks like from the file, but ...

You probably want to remove the fighter type dual/multi mages otherwise you'll get the same buff and slay answer for basically all challenges. If you need time go invis and non-detect, SI:abjure (assuming they can dispel), imp haste, prot magic weapons and charge. Refresh prot magic weapons if ...

@littiz: intereting. I had assumed Carsomyr worked the same as other dispel weapons --- SotM and dispel arrows both bypass immunity. Just did a test run on it and Carsomyr's dispel doesn't seem to work at all in my tests on party members so now I'm a bit baffled. Tested against level 12 characters ...

A few different difficulty sliders would be great. Definitely lower exp should be one of them. Monster exp in general should be reduced so that you don't gain so much from random killing and also so that using fewer characters doesn't result is so much more exp per character. This would make small ...

@littiz The earlier strategy post I have to disagree with. Prot from Magic weapons is going to be essential to your defense against keldy. You're right about SI:abjure early in the fight to stop his dispel casts, but it won't stop carsomyr from raping your defenses, only prot from magic weapons will ...

Hehe. I like it too. I've played almost every started game to at least the end of SoA so I haven't done it that many times. Gearing up from nothing is a lot of fun. The later game when you have so many spells and powers and items can get into a bit of a rut.

I'm pretty sure the check is done when you do the dual classing. You won't be able to dual once you lose the point, but if you've already dualed it won't affect you.
