Disarm Trap Skill

Gladys joined my party, but doesn't have disarm trap.

How necessary is this skill before I meet Dranor again? I didn't complete the thieve's guild quests in Avestrue, so I assume that I am stuck without this skill! Are there any traps that instantly kill me?

I lost Dranor in when I arrived at Ferndok. He is at the Ducal Citadel, but I can't get in. My companion, Rhulana, said something about the fact that we wouldn't see him again except in jail. I have some questions.

1. I read somewhere that Auralia in Averstrue has a secret recipe. How do I get it?

2. Do I miss out on a lot if I don't do the thieve's guild quest in Avestrue before proceeding?
