You can also get a daedric dai-katana from a guard in the house on stilts at the edge of the Dren compound.

If you want to change the Morrowind economy so you can actually sell your loot, I would recommend Shakti's temple fences plugin ( http://home.austin.rr.com/shakti/morrowind/shaktiplugins.htm ). Beats the hell outta exploiting the Creeper or the crab. I mean sure, the scarcity of funds is there for a ...

Henchmen interactions

Hmmm...I decided to sit down and have a chat with my henchwoman (Sharwyn the bard). Now I chose her just as eye candy for my PC (my panther Darwin is really all the help I need). Anyhow, in talking with her, I got almost romance-type dialogue options a la BG2 (i.e., statements that you knew she ...

I haven't seen any guilds yet, but hey, I've done all of one quest. It was really cool, perfectly suited for my druid. Unfortunately I've been busy with work, so I haven't got the playing time I want. (I also started over my ranger character to play the druid instead -- glad I did.) However, it ...

Why oh why would you want to turn yourself in? *master thief scratches head* Never turn yourself in (in fact, never even talk to a guard with a bounty on your head), or kiss your "stolen items" goodbye. Join the thieves guild (even if you don't advance in it) -- a few of its members will remove a ...

Okay, sorry I haven't responded to the questions (thanks to those who did this for me) -- three guesses as to what I've been doing? This game is great -- just completed my first real quest (a very class-specific one for my druid). If the rest of the quests are as interesting and creative as this one ...

The verdict (after playing for an hour at work): druids rock! Love my animal companion too much to wait until level 6 for it, so bye bye ranger. Now, let's see, panther or wolf or hawk or badger or spider or bear or dire wolf...choices choices

As for importing from BG, you can't. They decided there ...

Other than the slowdown thing, I haven't noticed any bugs or other lag. Not very far (no doubt there will be an unlimited experience or similar bug somewhere, I'm sure), but it's looking good.

As for character appearance, I think I know what you mean. In BG2 I wanted my fighter/thief to look like a ...

One more thing: I won't give it away, but you don't really start the real game as level 1, you start as level 3. Some may want to keep that in mind when designing their characters.

Alright, alright. Sorry -- I'm still in the midst of my euphoria. Four years of waiting -- let's just say the feeling is up there with the night my fiance returned from a year in Australia! ;)

Okay, here's the dirt (keep in mind that last night I was completely concerned with character creation ...

Woohoo!

EB stores in Toronto released the game yesterday (Tuesday)! My ranger/rogue combo is coming along nicely. The game is beautiful. Too bad Morrowind's now going to gather a bit o' dust (I was enjoying it while waiting). If you live in Toronto, check EB (I got mine at the Dufferin mall) -- I've heard ...

Sisyphus reversed:

For training acrobatics, I use a little place I call Circus Rock. I think it's a little east of Balmora on the road (cross the bridge). Doesn't matter--there are probably plenty of them. Look for a tall mountain that you can climb up fairly quickly with a couple of "jump-staging ...

More on displaying your loot:

I spend a lot of time "arranging" items in my stronghold for best effect -- guess my assassin's kind of anal.

Some tricks I've learned: 1) turning clipping off (console tcl) makes it easier to place items exactly where you want them, as you can approach a shelf from ...

Hmmm...netch riding. Seems a wee bit easier than my favorite sport to date -- Whack'a'Merchant. Sell the Robe of St. Roris to a merchant until he/she decides to wear it. Then see if you can take 'em down.

lol. Funny thing is, you can pull the double ring of gaxx trick in Morrowind, too. (Sort of.) Any of you thieves notice the duplication of keys? It seems that keys to important loot-filled locked rooms are often in two places (usually locked in a chest/desk AND on some powerful character). You'd ...

Also, try ra (reset actors) first -- I think Kangaxx from BG2 is loose in Morrowind and gets his revenge by imprisoning NPCs in the floor. (I've turned off clipping and found NPCs this way). Guy must be p.o.ed about us taking his ring...

Important NPCs have a nasty habit of disappearing. Had it happen to me twice. Well, three times if you count the silt-strider with nobody attending it. I tried to bugjack it, to no avail.

2 things to try with the console (hit ~):

First, type "ra" (no "s). This resets actors, so if the orc fell ...

@Cross,

Think your first definition was best (and actually more succinct)! I like the "minimum to get the maximum" part -- I think this is key. Most want to create a powerful character (I certainly do), but it is a question of how. In Morrowind, I [like most, I think] tend to fall in between ...

Nope, he doesn't have it (first thing I tried). Has a couple keys, though. I might have to see what those open--if only to know what lock to pick! :)
