I had a rogue and went 4 levels with it. I then Multiclassed to a sorc but I can't cast any spells. I am a level 2 sorc. Should I keep going until I can use spells or what?

I want a character that has a familiar and summons creatures,can pick locks and find traps, wear armor. and cast magic missles and such. What class and how many levels in each. Thanks for the help. I killed all teh demons and still had all y people.. Used pierce shield and breach a few times also lower resistance. Hacked at him with the tanks. Nothing. So.
