I use single-weapon style to get the +2 AC bonus. I think that in the character creation/skills assignment page it says that the reason for this style is for characters who only want to specialise in using one weapon and learn to use it as a shield/defensively too (hence the AC bonus)

in melee mages can summon creatures to aid them, though I agree that a thief is absolutely essential in a party. A team of mages with no fighter may be formidable but without a thief ... watch out for those traps!!!

I played a multiplayer game and used lots of Mordenkainen's Sword. That was fun ...

Okay, maybe this subject has been done to death in this forum but ... what are the advantages of a cleric/druid/priest ???

The only thing that they are good for it seems are their healing spells. Sure they got pretty snazzy higher level spells but I don't use them very much since mage spells are ...

I've started playing SoA with a fighter/thief mostly to pick up the thieving skills in a party weighted to spellcasters (jaheira, viconia, kelsey ... and later imoen and solaufein).

But I don't know how to successfully backstab :mad:
