The Fighter/Mage is more powerful for the simple reason that he will eventually gain Fighter HLA's. Improved Haste + Critical Strike/GDeathblow/Power Attack Smite are ridiculously powerful combinations.

Well I tried it, and while it worked nicely, I still prefer the original version for the dozens of little details that I thought were better than in BG2. Character models were more shapely (compare the slim and sensual BG1 Imoen, to the stocky boy-girl BG2 version), armors looked shinier (they look ...

Go to the circle-shaped wooden fence with the ceremonial wolves inside and open the door. Rest for a while, and Rigmor should be there. He'll start fighting the wolves when you get near and will die to them quickly.

The belt sets your CON to 18 for eight hours. More than enough to last you until your next sleep that is. Remember that you can simply equip the belt once when you wake up, cast the spell, and then switch to another belt.

Getting & installing ToB should enable you to use healing potions. Otherwise I believe it might also have been included in the Baldurash Fixpack.

Ehr, Swashies do get Whirlwind instead of Assassination. It may or may not be in the original game, but get the latest official ToB Patch and the Baldurash ToB Fixpack and they should get Whirlwind instead.

In my case, Minsc didn't survive the first encounter which I played without cheese. He got hacked by the evil planetar big time. The second time round, I equipped him with arrows which put some distance between him and the enemies ...

Oh, it's possible to take on Ilyich without separating them, or was, they got a pretty much flawless patrolling script in the latest version, which makes the fight a *tad* harder. Using Hit'n'Run'n'Hide attacks with Yoshimo, or any other thief for that matter, is still a quite viable tactic though ...

Haste, both from the potion and the spell, will not always give you an extra attack, it will simply round up to the next integer. So if you got 2 attacks it will go up to 3 attacks when hasted, if you got 5/2 attacks, it will still only go up to 3 attacks when hasted, if you got 3 attacks, it will ...

Now thats not entirely true. Beholders and Gauths do not make up the entirety of the game, so its not like everything is a breeze.

1) De'Arnise Keep
2) Astral Prison
3) Planar Sphere
4) Umar Hills (I've already defeated the Illusionist)
5) Unseeing Eye

The only quest that was really altered in the Tactics mod is De'Arnise Keep with the much toughened up Torgal. He's much tougher now and accompanied by 4-5 spirit trolls and 2 ...

People can feel annoyed when someone announces that a certain aspect of the game makes it far too easy and decides to drop it. The person reasons like this:

"I think healing pots makes the game far too easy and thus I've decided to play without them to maintain some degree of challenge"

"Oh I see ...

The purpose of healing pots is to use them in the heat of battle, or that's all I ever use them for anyway. Using a cleric to heal your party is far too slow and inefficient to be used in a intense and difficult battle, more than likely the person who got hurt will be dead before the cleric can even ...

A little smarter, yes. But you know, improved or not, he's still supposed to be one of the most difficult monsters in SoA.

Two or three dragons on screen would lag like hell, I had 4 dragons on screen once, when I still had that bug that created a duplicate of a monster if you left the map. Locked ...

Firkraag, I feel cheap

Just killed (Improved) Firkraag on Insane with my six player party at about 2.5 mil exp each (I picked up Imoen before doing the majority of the Chap 2 quests). Summoned two fire elementals, two bears and a skeleton warrior, threw up every spell buff my party had available, used Mass invisibility ...
