He was pretty hard the first few times. I got a great rhythm with aard and chopping him up. Killed him in record time taking very little damage. the aard would knock out his quen, and another put him off balance- had aard 2 and magic intensification 2.

I think the most embarrassing try before that ...

*Newbie Advice* Finished game! Awesome!-Witcher 2

Well what a ride! Best game in ages. Finished with Vernon and no complaints- he is awesome. Easily hit the level cap by the beginning of act 3 with a little leveling via arm wrestling in Flotsam and early (pre medallion) wraith killing on Hensalt's side.

Anyway some advice to anyone starting this ...

*Minor Spoilers* Witcher 2 guide to the non modded rich and powerful

Here's my quick guide to lots of coin and XP.

For anyone wishing a high level and very rich Geralt before act 3 without modding or editing read on.

Playing with the current patched version the arm wrestlers in Flotsam are bugged.

Finish the arm wrestling quest line in Flotsam and then go back to ...

A Question and some Comments + Advice *weak spoilers*

How come no one ever mentions the ebony scimitar you can get from the Mournhold Ordinators? It looks cool and can hold more echantments than any other weopon I've seen (almost more than 4 times the highest daedric! I.e. 80) !

Has anyone made a constant effect item that does damage to themselves ...

I forgot two last pieces of advice:

1) Blocking is very useful against some of the bosses, i.e.- the shark guy, and the Tzmize warform. If you're melee/ brawl and having trouble with the bosses try it, although it will take a little while to get used to. Blocking is pretty much wasted on your dime ...

I had a lot of trouble with this quest as well. The things that worked for me were wearing light armour and using blood buff to boost my dexterity (then watching the stealth meter, and any 100% red or ! warrented a reload). Then throw in lots of Trance, or the demention level 1 power. Although, even ...

Ventrue or Gangrel are definetely the best, both in PnP and the game. I like fortitude, its always great to tank your way through these games. I also enjoyed using dominate in conversations, trance for stealth missions and mass suicide for the swarms of human goons.

For Gangrel it was all about ...

Forgot to add a few things:

1) Do the FULL tutorial at the beginning for a 2 XP reward.

2) The character I described will likely at least have an additional 10+ XP to play with by the end of the game, especially if its a Gangrel.

and...

3) For people playing the game for the first time and ...

Low Humanity Characters

Has anyone experimented with low humanity characters?

The dialogue is supposed to change and I was wondering if your humanity is low enough can you accept the Tzmize's (sp?) offer to give you claws when you first meet him (and fight him) in the bloody house.

I've rarely had a low humanity ...

Character Tips (WEAK-SPOILERS mid-end)

I've gone through this game twice and found several things that would help any character:

At the character creation:
1) You have one set of attributes and one set of skills or talents or knowledges that you can put three dots in (eg Gangrel can start with 3 dots in strength, and three dots in ...

Things forgotton....!!

I noticed things I never noticed in this game before,

1) Imported characters from BG 1 retain the benefits of the tomes that boost attributes.

2) Imported characters from BG 1 do not suffer attribute penalties when choosing a kit i.e.- a druid from BG 1 with a strengh of 19 (thanks tome) will ...

Use your cleric. Summon a fire elemental cast sanctuary on your self and avoid the fire. Even just one fire elemental can kill both monks on a normal day.

Not impressed with HOF

-HOF is pretty stupid. Why make ridiculous monsters (super goblins) when the designers could have just replaced each goblin with 2 frost giants and a mage.

-I think HOF was a bit of a cop out. It would have been much cooler killing lots (and lots) of strong monsters (not souped up ridiculous ones ...

With six characters you get so much more! An extra few hands to specialize in different weopons, use different aromour, different feats, etc.

Unstoppable killing machines!! Try!

I went through most of the game with a a level 8 druid, level 11 cleric, a level 8 fighter and three level 5 characters. When I had to kill the Guardian I had to level my druid up (multiple call lightnings while invisible would only bring the beast to almost dead), so nows he's level 17 and nearly ...

Druids and Killing the Guardian (cheesy)

Want to the killl the Guarian with yet another cheese method?

1) Take 1 level 10+ Druid cast call lightning the maximum number of times you can (should be about 5 active).

2) While the druid is casting the last call lightning have your mage or sorcerer cast invisibility 10' radius.

3)Summon ...
