Final thanks

Cheers, m'dear.

I'd tell you how much I fancy uber-intelligent Valkyries, but don't want to be creepy... ;)

Anyway, ta for the tips. Even if the final solution was unexpectedly different from the reported problem, never doubt the importance of a "sounding-board" for keeping the ...

Problem solved!

Downloaded & ran the TotSC patch - & the problem has flown away! :)

Should've done that a long time ago, ofc, but assumed I already had...

So please ignore all the burble above, except that I'd still like a link to SCKeeper.

Thanks again,

B.

Good news & bad news

I've discovered how to open the Console - Ctrl/Tab (unlike Ctrl/Space, which it says in my notes).

However, entering the line exactly as typed doesn't effect the movie-playing, alas! I presume it should be typed in full, exactly as stated - in that case it echoes in the ...

More info needed, please

Cheers, VonD - good stuff as ever. I'd like to try those methods, but need to know -

a) How does one open the "Console"? Following notes I have on BGII, I've inserted the lines

Debug Mode=1
Cheats=1

Into both the [Program Options] & [Game Options] sections of Baldur ...

Bump

Don't wish to be a pain, but am hoping some smart-person will say rightaway that "The method to disable Movies is XYX"...

Or sommat like that... Right now, I just remembered that I've got to change my bedding & clothes, then take the laundry downstairs... ;)
But I don't live in a prison ...

Rooting around in old threads...

Whoever said AD&D was based on anything remotely resembling reality?

Er, Gary Gygax. The whole theme of AD&D (1st Ed.) was a "realistic" aproach to Fantasy Gaming. It may seem an oxymoron, but not to the initiated...

Sorry - "initiated" is a terrible cop-out ...

Just wanted to say...

...that I reckon it's *nice* that an "old" game like BG still has active fora, long-time players posting above, etc. Ofc, chess is quite an old game, so...

BTW, my biggest gripe about BG & BGII is how a party can't walk down a straight corridor without someone wandering off ...

How can one disable the Movies?

Hello - it's been a while since I've been on here, but am hoping there are still active experts willing to answer questions...

Anyway, the problem is that when I enter the building for the final battle with Sarevok (in TotSC), the entry video constantly replays! There's maybe a 1-second break ...

"Berserk" Celtic warriors
The berserker is obviously based on the Celtic, Germanic and Norse berserkers...
Just a bit of pedantry, largely irrelevent to the main discussion.

IMO, it is inappropriate to describe the heroes of Celtic mythology as "berserkers", or to ...

Who's got the "best" sig?

One of the pleasures of perusing fora is the often humorous, educational or otherwise interesting signatures that contributers use.

So which is your favourite?

No doubt I'm missing out many worthy of high praise, but I think my vote would go to nephtu's one-liner, if only on grounds of brevity ...

Watchers Keep also gets closed down on completion, so there isn't a single safe spot that works for the whole of BGII, alas.

This being the case, I've had to wean myself off the deep-rooted impulse to keep everything I've ever found. It *is* possible to stop ...

I had started writing a really serious analysis of the concept of "addiction" and whether it was appropriate to computer-gaming, but got bored myself & won't inflict it on anyone else.

Besides, I seriously doubt if the Thread Author will be coming back to read any of this - likely just letting off ...

Many thanks for the clever suggestions.

The door-closing trick seems to have worked, though it took a wee while to find the right kind of door!

Maybe that should be added to the song "50 ways to leave your lover" -

"Just lock her in a room, soon
And set your Minsc free!"

Thanks again,

B.

Question about ShadowKeeper

Is it possible to remove NPCs from the party using Shadoweeper?
I can't find any "delete" option...

BTW, the reason I need to do this is that I'm actually playing BG via the BGII game engine and want to drop Dynaheir without Minsc also leaving. SK allows the Save file to be edited, but ...

BGtutu seems hunky-dory

I've downloaded BGtutu from Fable's link (thank'ee kindly, Sir!) and it seems to work fine.

The only issue I've come across so far is that any NPCs I've encountered are all first-level (am pretty sure J. & K. were 2nd-lvl when first I played). However, this may be ...

BG as BGII

I seem to remember that there is a Mod which allows one to play the original BG (Aah! Bless!) under the BGII Engine.

But I'm afraid that I do not have access to my notes (exploding graphics cards, etc.). So may I ask any clued-up contributor with the answer handy to post it here? Sorry for laziness ...

Abazigal won't die (SPOILERISH)

I'm playing the Improved Abazigal from the Ascension mod, but he stays on "Near Death", despite thousands of points damage.
Control/Y won't work - it just does several hundred pts damage, which he similarly ignores.

Now, I've dealt with a similar problem in the past, using the CLUA code ...
