you really need magic if you want your character to be very strong. if you don`t have some enchant skill, I think your character can`t be good at all, the same for alteration and conjuration. if you want to be a fighter type like an orc or a nord, you can do a lot more damage if you make 10 fortify ...

i`m level 65 and i can tell you that spellcaster are very mighty.
you need to have mixed skills for example
major skills:destruction, long blade, alteration, heavy or light armor, enchant
minor skills: illusion, mysticism, restoration, other magics

later in the game you just curse your enemy a ...

i have both games and although diablo2 is a very enjoyable game, morrowind is much better

in diablo you need to follow quests and stuff, in morrowind you can do whatever you want and there are much more things to do

diablo2 lasts in single player 30 hours , morrowind is ...
