Neither do containers and their contents, so if you want to keep your best potions and scrolls, you have to remove them from their containers.

In IWD we have 2E, or more likely 2.5E. BG1 uses 2E as it did IWD before HoW add-on. BG2 uses the 2E with some added improvements from 3E. IWD2 is 3E.

it happens if they do not have a clear line of sight. just move them so they do and they will not run towards the enemy.

Yep, you got it. Shambling mounds are awesome. They are the summons du jour for HoW/TotL; especially against remorhaz and ice golems.
