New Lightsaber Types and other stuff
Something that is possible for them to add is a sword that could be empowered through the force, and thus turning something, like a Vibrosword into a bladed light saber, with the Force, instead of a concentrated light beam emitting from the object to create the new weapon.
Hey, that's a great idea, Gambit. That will give non-Jedi characters some leverage over those lightsaber wielders. But how about this idea of inserting a lightsaber crystal into any melee weapon (be it vibrosword or any type of swords for that matter)? That weapon will be glowing depending on the colour of that crystal and will make it more useful against lightsaber wielders.
By the way, welcome to the forums, Gambit. Hope you enjoy your time here.

Well, the beam emitter, focusing lens and the power source could be placed at the hilt of the sword. The sword, in my opinion, should have some slot in between the blade and the hilt so as to slot in your desired crystal. It will be cool to have a sword or any melee weapon for that matter to emit a lightsaber glow.

Then wouln't that just be a Lightsaber and a vibrosword? I don't get it.
But! how about a lightsaber that can "shoot" energy particles. Much like a blaster but a ranged targets can be used as a ranged wepon.

That would be neat. Good thing is, that you don't need to 'reload' your lightsaber since the energy particles would be limitless compared to that of a blaster.
But, I agree with FighterTundra about the lightsaber throw power. Should be enough for a Force adept.

Like an energy field?

I would like to see customizable hilts throughout the game, as I'm sure someone posted before me. I'd also like to creat a hilt myself. As all Star Wars geeks out there have done at some time, I've created a lightsaber hilt when doodling. I'd like to make that, w/o having a mod for the game.
Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.

I don't really care about new lightsaber stuff but they could have a custom hilt and more upgrade items......If they have to it doesn't matter to me.

obrad, I wouldn't mind that idea, but if the lightsaber was longer, I don't think the weight would be more, it's an energy blade, not an actual blade forged of steel. And even if it was, more weight (I'm guessing you meant more waste of energy would mean more weight, but didn't say it) would mean more damage, just not as fast of a swing. But there is a way to do that w/o making a "heavy blade": stances, similar to Jedi Academy (normal, fast, and strong stances) but now I'm getting off the topic of lightsabers, so I'll stop.

I don't think they should make "lightsabre" viboblades.
The meele weapons were already strong enough to be comparable to a lightsabre, and well - according to the SW Movies the lightsabre cuts through pretty much anything (even in SW:Kotor2 can you open forcefields and doors with one swing of a lightsabre).
Making ordinary meele weapons even more powerfull would remove the "uniqueness" lightsabres have as a powerfull Jedi weapon.
I'd much much rather have that they beef up blasters and especially blaster rifles and repeater guns, to something which mirrors their effect from the movies, thus makeing meele more lightsabre and thus Jedi orientated, as seems to be the norm in for instance the SW movies.

I agree. The regular lightsaber used in most Star Wars games is more powerful than most close-combat weapons. The idea of different 'types' of lightsabers came from some of the Star Wars: Expanded Universe books (I don't read them, but some of those types originated from these books) such as that lightsaber shaped like a whip as an example. In fact, to me, I can't imagine having some of these different types of lightsabers in any Star Wars-related game. It will make the game look weird to me.DarthZ wrote:I don't want them to make new "types" of lightsabers. There's more than enough with all those different hilts and lightsaber colours. I love the Star Wars universe and I don't want anyone to change anything in it, more than story wise.
As for lightsaber hilt customisation, I do think that it will be great to do so, especially in the game. As for colours, there are enough colours introduced in KOTOR 2 and I think they (the developers) should either maintain that number of colours or throw out some of those colours that look similar to each other (like yellow and bronze).

I agree 100% with you. They could remove silver, orange and viridan. Those to me look pretty good, yes, but I don't want them in Star Wars.DesR85 wrote:I agree. New lightsaber form
A lightsaber form was mentioned in the expanded universe. Asajj Ventress has perfected a form that uses paired lightsabers to strike and parry. This form could be a duel lightsaber focus, it could have no negative affects when using two lightsabers, it could also have a positive affect by adding modifiers to both strength and dexterity (strike and parry ) when using two lightsabers.
