Failivion
Failivion
All started like 2 weeks ago my hunger awakened for some rpg styled game..I installed good ol'friend baldurs gate.but i got bored around Lvl 15ish..So i looked for a more active game and just realised that i never tried oblivion somehow. And for the sake of morrowind i thought it must be better than it.
But then..fails started..
No multiplayer..ffs which century are those ppl living in..
(there is a multi mod which is damn hard to imply..i managed but it is also crappy, makes the other player appear as an npc.he appears as a human no matter if it's dunmer or khajit.besides u can,yes enter same buildings dungeons but actually u both are playing on ur own world.1player kills an npc but its alive in urs..no trade between players and the accuracy of the location of other player is just close to the actual place he is standing)
The item infos are bad..all swords appear same damage somehow..i thought it is because of my skill..being so low..but I didnt see any difference as i gain levels and skills, same in the armor..why not using 2 digit numbers so i can see difference..but no
map..dont even wanna talk about it. a 10 yearold designer can get better results.
levelling system..those little goblins are much better than me gaining levels..lol game forces u to get +5 multiplers all the time or u wont be able to beat 2 monsters at same time.u get blade skill as ur major..but nono..u should raise ur Hth and blunt..whats the point of choosing it as major if i am forced to use other ones at dungeons..
u can never see the actual hitpoints that ur items have..u wont even know about it unless u check some f.a.q.
u can open very hard locks at the begining of game..mini game looks cool but..why raise ur skill if u can already able to make it.
morrowind was much fun..exploring wise, there were tons of legendary items to chase..but in this game loots are matching ur level..well yes there are some exceptions but do u remember morrowind??
arena ..being a gladiator?? u can drink potions..so where is the challenge..even worse if u are conjuror.summon and just block..kids are dying
did they actually played their own game?what is beta testers for? no one complaint about map and so on?
overall this game is a 6 over 10 and a toal dissapointment for the fans.i cant even imagine how game magazines rated this game so high?possibly because there arent much alternatives.
Rpg is dying because of mmo games out there.
damn i typed too much x) but dunno just need to talk someone
yet still there are many gamers on this community..maybe some can suggest some other games to me..for multiplayer..i am looking for a good 2 player rpg if possible.are there any good games out there worth playing?

Oblivion straight out of the box is terrible, and many people have commented on this since its release. However, assuming you are on PC, there is hope.
There are all kinds of player-made modifications that vastly improve the game and make it more like Morrowind. I suggest you check out the sticky threads at the top of this forum for more information.

The tutorial for Oblivion is one of the worst I've had the displeasure to encounter. And yes, there are lots of niggling bugs and other matters that make a vanilla Oblivion very bland and inefficient. However, as DW points out, there are tonnes of mods out there that address these problems and can make Oblivion quite brilliant, IMHO.
Still, if you don't want to bother with mods and instead want an alternate multiplayer game, why not try Diablo II? Still good for hack-n-slash after all this time. NWN 2 and its expansion MotB is also another game I'd recommend.

You can always avoid the starter dungeon, if you're playing on a PC of course.

I somehow avoid mods (except weimer's baldur mods)but definetely gonna try one in oblivions case.but mods page is stil a bit complicated.seems like i cant be sure which ones gonna work well together. Are there any packages out there like weimers for oblivion? fixing both levelling issue and adds legendary items yet still keep the game balanced and uncheesy?
You can use either Oblivion Mod Manager or Wryebash for the job, or not bother with either. Using mods is a lot more straightforward with Oblivion than it was with BG, for one thing the game was designed to be modded unlike Baldur's Gate. I've never used a mod manager with Oblivion (or Morrowind) and never had any problems, which is why I've never seen the point of them to be honest. I've used more mods than I can remember too, not as many as some maybe but extensively, it really is a piece of cake.

Likewise. As far as I can recall, I haven't yet run across any conflicting mods.galraen wrote:I've never used a mod manager with Oblivion (or Morrowind) and never had any problems, which is why I've never seen the point of them to be honest. I actually find mod management tools invaluable in both ES3 and 4. Though, I use *a lot* of mods (between 50 and 100, if not more at times) .
It took me a while to figure out how to use Wrye Mash/Bash, but since I'm more or less mastered it, my games run *much* more smoothly and I have considerably less need to do complete re-installs.

Aren't you, BlueSky and Fable having some sort of competition to see who can run the most mods at the same time DW?

I'm afraid my 170+ mods would easily fall before some of the gang on the ES forums, who have managed upwards of 500 mods at a time.galraen wrote:Aren't you, BlueSky and Fable having some sort of competition to see who can run the most mods at the same time DW?
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

In accordance with the multiplayer "problem". Have you noticed how big the game is? And how good the graphics are? If Bethesda were to make Oblivion an MMORPG, they would have to cut down on the graphics, and would have to make it only for the PC, as the Xbox and PS3 would not be able to handle an MMO version.
So no, Oblivion can not be a multiplayer, maybe they will make one, but it will be nowhere near as good as the original.
